I can operate my desktop from anywhere in the world with internet access. I can reboot, etc. Only hitch is that if I shut down, I need someone to push the power button to come back up.

It would be cool if you could simply buy a computer in a foreign country, and then bring it back to the US and use it. If so, I wonder if that entails using the foreign country's 3G service, which of course you would pay for online? Seems like this is the easy, problem-free way to do it, ...IF...
