I will be going to Long Island in the near future and heard there are casino boats w/ BJ that sail out of Freeport.

I normally would not even consider boats nowadays, however as you can see from the link below they are 3:2 S17 and even look to be 6 decks.

Anyone tried them? Mondays and Tuesdays are FREE on Opus!!! +ev right there as they serve food.
Interesting. Not free on Mon/Tues, though, according to the web site. $35 per person except $50 on Sats.

Still, looks nice enough and does look like 6D S17. :)

Free Mon and Tues the month of April...gotta love the hot chick with the BJ

Surprisingly no one has commented on the conditions given the number of cats living in the northeast on this board...well, I am going next week and will report back

If you're caught counting in international waters, hope they don't throw you overboard. It just seems like the boat would be a good venue to beat the fish in poker, since most people would go just to have a good time and won't play seriously.

What border? The boat is staying in international waters and departing and arriving from the same spot.

Hmmm...I think it would be a great idea to have a casino cruise from the Hamptons to Atlantic City every weekend in the summer, with gambling permitted on board while in international waters. A lot of people from the Hamptons are rich and would rather take a 4 hour cruise to AC than drive 5 hours.

Your Majesty?

Hey Sharky, don't know if the Majesty is the same line as in Ft. Myers but if it is you may have a tough time playing. The boat I was on awhile back was kinda sweaty to say the least. The guy next to me was winning and they gave him a comp and were taking promo pictures of him? I hid my face for obvious reasons while he just sucked it up. The do sweat the money so expect to spread alot or for long.

A cruise from AC to the Hamptons would take a lot more than four hours.

Those boats can be crowded, rough, and you have absolutely no recourse for cheating or non-payment. The captain makes all the rules. Now the rules he has to follow for treatment of passengers are pretty strict under the conditions of his captain's license, but those rules do not call for dealing a fair game.

However, the roughness of the environment makes for opportunity. You will find slipshod dealing and procedures, and malfunctioning equipment on these boats. ;) But see above- if you get caught going beyond counting there's a chance you won't get paid.

opus ccl

My first post here forgive me if I get the abbreviations wrong. Opus casino the standard blackjack tables offer the following: split to 4 hands except aces get one card only, can only split 10's if a pair not any 10. Double after split, double down on anything, dealer stands on soft 17, late surrender offered, and 3:2 paid on blackjack, insurance offered. Most tables are $10 min/$200 max bet and have 8 decks. There is 1 $25 table with a $300 max bet and six decks, and sometimes a $50 table with a $500 max bet also 6 decks. Both may or may not be no-mid shoe entry. They keep changing their minds on that, $25 is usually not, especially if $50 table is open. Penetration is 4-4.5 decks at 6 deck table. Tip the dealer and suggest to put cut card further back and they usually will. Penetration at 8 deck tables is horrible, they cut off up to 3 decks. These dealers like to shuffle. I have been playing on the various boats out of Freeport for 14 years and have never gotten any heat for counting cards or seen any one get any heat, but they must know i do at this point. It is a new company, but a lot of the same people have worked on the various boats for years. I have consistently done very well on these boats. Cruises end up having 3-4 hours of actual gambling with transit time to international waters. It has been very rare that I have gone out and lost more than $100 on any trip, and usually take $500-$1000 per cruise or break even.

Huh? I play BJ almost every frickin day and lose over a thousand in a session all the time. Even as my graph inches upward I get slaughtered all the time. But you, somehow miraculously, on your stinky boats, with 4 decks cut off , BARELY lose at all, EVER, while relieving them of large amounts of cash almost every time. Sure dood. Ok. I'm stupid..your smart. Your the best..I'm the worst.. Your very good looking, I'm not attractive.. etc..

You are taking him too seriously. He probably works in Marketing and magically figured a way to lure the APs to their boats.

Does this mean working with the help isn't illegal?

If so, I'll get a job dealing, and one of you guys come play me ;)

Cheating goes both ways. If a player has no recourse against the house for cheating, then it sounds like the house has no recourse against the dealers/players cheating them.

I have no problem with not getting paid if caught. My only problem with cheating / collusion is the jailtime involved. If it's not illegal and the only real risk you're taking is not getting paid if they figure it out, then I don't see any problems.
