Have you ever been backed off at Caesar's Windsor?
Thread title says it all.
I am moving to Windsor (about 2km/1mi up the rd from the casino) and I plan to start playing as early as July. My only concern is that I come from Ottawa, playing at Lac Leamy in Hull, and they have 0 measures vs counters.

Last time I was there, I quickly realized that their games were so crummy that there should be no reason for countermeasures. I really think one would be a fool to go there with the intention of straight-counting. (I admit, however, that I haven't been in the HL room).

Are you speaking of Windsor or Lac Leamy?

I was speaking of CW. I have never been to Lac Leamy. The blackjack on the main floor at CW is piss poor, and not worth the time, IMO. Nevertheless, I have heard that this is the case for many Canadian casinos, so perhaps you've already been baptized in fire.
But really, if I was a floor-person there, and I saw someone grinding away with straight-counting, I would probably just giggle to myself. Floor persons are known to be stupid, so they may incorrectly perceive CC'ing on their games as something grave; therefore, one should be careful nonetheless.

Casino Windsor was the scene of one of my most brutal barrings ever, about 10 years ago. I was detained by gaming agents for more than 5 hours while they tried to think up every possible reason they could, to arrest me (unsuccessfully of course). Then when I got through the tunnel into the U.S., I was detained & repeatedly questioned and searched for another 5 hours by U.S. Customs; during which time one of the Customs agents slipped up & admitted that they had received a call from the casino, telling them I would be smuggling money across the border. Luckily for me, I had given all of the winnings to a Canadian friend to hold onto. (The fact that they found almost NO money on me was what pissed them off even WORSE)
The casino manager of Casino Windsor is probably the sorest loser I have ever encountered in my whole career!

I had been to Casino Windsor once some time ago (I can't remember when it became Caesar's Windsor but it was before that) and it had a bit of a reputation for being risky for AP. From what I've heard it's a lot different these days, which is a good thing given the story you've related :O

In response to Spaw's comment about the game rules, I have never been lucky enough to play outside of Canada, so the rules here are what I'm used to
I think last time I played at CW the conditions at the 10$ table I found were
- 8 deck shoe, ~75% pen.
- Double after split
- Double on any 2 cards (including double and insure for less)
- No surrender
- Dealer Stands on all 17
- Blackjack pays 3:2
The side bet at that table was Lucky Ladies, which if I'm not mistaken is probably the best of the side bets...it at least seems that way.
