Could they be any more paranoid?

I've heard that having the dealer do a quick shuffle cuts down on repetitive motion injuries from dealing. But who knows why they really do it?
The extent to which the B in AC shuffles now, they must be strong believers in ST. AT may still be viable, but it would be a toss up in my opinion. I didn't give it a try, so I don't know for sure.

Recently played at a house that first does a hand shuffle, then puts the cards into the ASM
Funny, what a waste of time. Maybe casinos are paranoid over ASMs for a reason, would be good news for APs :) In all likelihood they're just outright stupid though.

Shuffle

I was recently playing a fair DD in Detroit where every other shuffle they washed the cards. I have never done so well on a FAIR dd in my life,,in fact I did damn well till it ended.;)

I do feel it was their shuffle technique.:)

The casinos don't understand the inner workings of ASM's any more than the average gambler, and I think that when they see a table dump money or some other unusual occurrence, they think like a ploppy and assume the ASM is doing something to screw them. Casinos don't have a good feel for what is and is not statistically normal.

Almost all of the stores around where I live will shuffle the cards AFTER they take them out of the ASM. I have two reasons why this might happen. The first is that either they want to show to the players that the machine is not rigged (unlikely), or they are just paranoid as hell (very likely). Also, games like 3CP always seem to get shuffled BEFORE they are inserted into the ASM. Really not sure why.
