Rookie looking for a pro in nyc

#1
Hey guys, Im new to the forum and have been a bj player for years. I have had my ups and downs. Im posting because Im looking for a counter who i in NY, who is willing to work with me. I have a game that goes on 2x a week in the city (nice place, relaxed enviorment) but the dealers are weak, and it can be taken. Im looking for someone who can show the way perhaps......... If interested and in NYC, please hit me back with email and we can discuss. Thanks.

Only games with weak dealers I know of in NYC are run by Russians and they don't care if the dealers are weak as no one is allowed to win and safely depart with the money. Forewarned is forearmed.

Is it a legal one or something like what Shad is warning you about? OR is it a boat one ?

Not legal, and not run by Russians at all. And you can walk out with money. I have before. But just figuring this is a good look. The place is laid out, and definitely safe. Suits as well as normal guys attend. You have to be member though, but you can come with a member. The game is 100% safe, in the city. Been going there for years and never an issue, and I have seen the table hit for 10k-12k at a time. Just figuring a pro, after watching a bit can crack it wide open. Biggest issue is radical table play by some people....

playing a mob game would be "cool" but there's just no guarantee that it will be a FAIR game.
What if they short the shoe? they certainly won't show you the cards if you ask to see them and you as a player will certainly not have any recourse for being short shoed or cheated.

i see one of the following two scenarios happening:

1) you part ways with your money
2) you somehow "take down" the table for a good amount, and you leave the building with their money & two soon-to-be-broken legs.

As far as the legs being broken, its definitely not tjhat type of set up. The guys that run it very cool, and I have seen them hit for 10k in one night, and it all ended up in drinks for the entire table. I have won 2-3 with no isues, and lost that as well. Nothing seedy about the place AT ALL!!! Thats a bet.

As far as the shope being short and the rest, I wouldnt know, but I can bet you one thing, you can definitely ask for a count, see them deal, and even ask for new cards to be broken out. I believe they use a 6 deck shoe. Look, Im not asking for anyone to come and play with their major bankroll, just someone who is a pro, and willingly to take a look.

:) don't get me wrong, it does sound like a fun table, especially in the middle of NYC!
but it sounds too good to be true and in a game like this i'm sure a counter would not be a welcome guest for very long.

if you can, please share the rules for this underground game --
decks? Surrender or no surrender? Dealer hits or stands on soft 17?

It sounds interesting for sure, just that the more skills a player has, the less likely he is to want to get involved in an illegal game. Why do that, when there are legal games? A full-time pro can travel to any game he wants.

Recommend that you learn the biz, go get some experience in PA or CT then decide if you want to go back to this game in NYC.

How come I am not aware of this casino in NYC?

I was aware of A CASINO in NYC since i met with a vendor who has sold over 200 slot machines to the same guy in NYC. Could this be that same place?

Can somebody PM me?

This is not casino, its an underground, upscale scale place. Howeever it is not run by pro's, and 98% of the players there are not pro's, so its an opportunity. I understand that a good player can play where ever he wants. But again, its an opportunity. Just looking for someone who has the skills and maybe ready to take advantage of a wide open situation. Who wouldnt want that????

Again, no danger involved.... That much can be garaunteed. If anyone who is in NY, and is interested, please contact me.

I'm not going to beat a dead horse, so this will be my last post in this thread.
You do not want to be trying any sort of advantage play in any illegal casino in New York City. No matter how nice and polite the people fronting the casino may seem, no illegal casino exists in NY that is not mobbed up. None.
These boys don't take kindly to losing in any respect but try beating them using a team or other AP means and you will be in serious trouble.
End of lecture. A word to the wise is sufficent.

Agreed, who else besides the mob would have the resources and would take on the risk of setting up an illegal casino? Is this casino in Queens, in or near Brighton Beach? ;) The opportunities are very tempting, with more relaxed rules and procedures, etc., but I would stay away from there if I was an AP, or do a very quick hit and run. I know a dealer who worked in one of these places.

So is it a consistent hole card game you've found? How do you figure a "pro can crack it wide open"?

Sounds like this place needs start up money and is looking to jack as many people as they can to get started. Or it's a really bad game and this guy is trying to lure in people to be cheated.

Its a good game. There are suits there, afterall.
That's right. Someone with a tie makes it legit. That is why all our Congressmen wear ties-- they're honest-- even have an ethics committee and all. It's all legit, man.
