I visited Harrington casino at Harrington, DE yesterday. Afternoon, all bj games were CSM except one $25 8-deck, S17 table (with In/Between side bet). By evening they had opened two additional $25 tables, both 8-deck S17. The High Limit room was closed when I checked in the afternoon. I don't know if it opened later or what the limits were as they were not labelled.

Were the CSM tables the i-Tables with the screens built into the tables? They were $5 minimum limits when I went there last Fall.
I can't speak for all the $5 tables, but I saw at least one with the screens built into the table. The sight of a CSM tends to stop further investigation. The $25 shoe games were NOT i-tables; these tables also had an in-between side bet. Except for a non-bj game I play, I see no reason to visit Harrington.

Maryland table games

As you probably know being a neighbor our politicians are corrupt idiots. If we get table games they will be horrible. I pray Im wrong but before the economic collapse we elected the first governor of the minority party in generations. He tried to institute a lot of needed reform that he ran on to get elected. The state congress being a good old boy club from the other party blocked every reform. He got nothing passed. They elected a majority party governor next and the government raced to pass all the reforms that the previous governor proposed and they blocked.

They were closing the barn door but the horse was long gone. The economy had collapsed. The surrounding states beat us in the gambling arms race. They raised taxes on businesses and the rich. They just moved an hour away to other states depleting the tax base as well as jobs. Corporations with plans to open large corporate headquarters or hubs here in our poorest areas creating valuable jobs for poor people with little opportunity stalled plans as taxes and employee costs rose due to the new laws and taxes. The state is very narrow in shape . Each raise in taxes caused people to use the neighboring states as much as possible when those taxes would need to be paid. The tax base shrank and businesses suffered.

A very amusing sign I suspect Katweezel erected in Virginia just across the line, "Virginia welcomes Maryland's millionaires and small businesses". It is sad nothing gets done unless the politicians are paid off. It doesnt matter which party is in power that is how one party rule works.

I doubt we're going to see table games in MD. Reason being is that MD tends to be a heavily democratic state. There has been heavy opposition to gambling as Baltimore and PG county do not want to see their mostly poor residents lose their collective a$$es not to mention the corruption that comes with gambling. PG county had gambling at their firehouses in the early to mid '90s and I personally witnessed their downfall. I'm sure this memory is still fresh in the minds of many politicians.

If there were no poor, the Democratic Party would create them. I believe in helping the poor. It is part of the Christian ethic. But I despise the use of poverty, race and other such mantras to control people and gain power. But fear not, the Republicans are doing the very same thing but from a different perspective. Republicans are saving the country from the evil superpowers of socialism, class warfare, economic collapse, market failure, and joblessness. Man! If people would only realize that politicians don't have a clue and that the only way to change a country is to change people's hearts. When politicians and businessmen start doing the right things from the right motives, then we may see a change for the better in the fabric of America. Until then, the very ones (both parties) who say they're trying to save us, will continue destroying us. In the popular modern vernacular, "Make no doubt about it!"

Other DE casinos are better

The Delaware casinos are closest to me, also. According to Emily, my (un)trustworthy GPS, Harrington is actually closest, but as Aslan said, it's pretty horrible. I much prefer Dover (much more "upscale") and will also go to Delaware Park and Penn National. Charles Town WV is too crowded and $25 min is way too high for my bankroll right now. Depends on what's closest to where I'm driving and how much extra time I might have. Ironically, it's easier for me to play in Germany...

I was at Penn National yesterday afternoon, and all the tables in the front section were 6-deck shoes. Standard PA rules with mostly $15 min and a couple of $25. There are a couple of tables in the back that are CSM. Looks like they added the Lucky Ladies side bet since the last time I was there. There was a seat or two at each table, but was tired and didn't want to count. Wound up grinding out a few hundred at the shuffle master video machine, so it was 2 hours time well spent. p

Where is Penn National? You might try Harrah's at Chester. It's south of Philly, not that far past Wilmington. Rules are same as all PA stores, and they have lucky ladies sb, as well.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Raceway (Racetrack?) is NE of Harrisburg, approx 15 miles on I-81. Thanks for the Harrah's suggestion--I'll ask Emily and see what she thinks :) p

Oh, okay, the one near the chocolate factory. Might be worth a trip. :)

Their counterpart in WVA, I agree, is hardly worth the trip. I've been there a few times, but let's just say I view my winnings as luck. The one in PA however is governed by PA rules, but I bet they still have that same aversion to low limit games.

I did go to play poker at CT a few weeks ago, and the ploppys seem to be running out of money. Only 1/2 the main pit was open in the morning when I got there (1 $15 min). When I left around 3p, the non smoking pit was open, but all the tables were $15 min (about 6 tables) with the same crappy rules , but it does appear the high limits are slowly burning out the regulars.

It's about time! The time before last, I was playing a $25 table and they matter-of-factly raised it to $50- no grandfather!
