Thanks Flash for update. Interesting to see AC's revenue is up. Have been noticing lately in PA the crowds have thinned noticeably in several places (good for me!). Thought it was the locals burning out, but maybe ACs doing a better job getting some of their customers back.

PA crowds thinning out I agrtee

Yes i was in parx east last night and it was not busy at all unfortunatly for me the cards were not with me last night. Hand after hand for about 3 hours the dealer made many more hands than I did. First losing trip in months so I guess it was due my money management didnt kill me just left a small deposit spreading 1:8 at $25 table. BTW in Parx east a few tables dont put the cards in the hole you can see the discard tray

Looks like someone hit one of those 100,000 to 1 bonus bets on Four Card Poker at the GN, but I believe Game Master or whomever the license owner of the game will end up paying it back.

RISK MANAGEMENT — this is called.

Any massive payoff can be underwritten by a major insurance company.

Did you know that T.V. game shows that offer opportunities to
win huge prizes are all underwritten by Lloyds of London ?

That way the overhead for the Producers are fixed, and there
is no exposure to losing money. This also permits advertisers
to be sold commercial messaging time at a fixed amount.

Too much info in this post if you plan to continue playing at this casino. I'd suggest that you edit your post.

Yes, noticed it too. PA casinos can't really compete with rooms (since most don't have any), but most seem to be upping the ante on prizes and giveaways (pfft, except Sands, those bastards). Even unlucky me was able to win something recently, and I'm one of those people who never wins anything ;)

Would it not be more accurate to say:

I, like most, have never learned to use the term "never" correctly.

Flash my jokes are so elegant, subtle, profound and full of deep insight, so intricately layered and dazzlingly faceted, that some might misconstrue what I'm saying... ok this one wasn't ;)

In all seriousness, there are more promotions, even promotions being opened up to table players that were previously only available for slot players.

And of course, never is a bad word to use for an AP, as I have learned from my esteemed colleagues on this board.

Last year I found myself in a remote miniscule casino on a rainy weekday.

there were scheduled, a host of promotions.

I was the only table game player — so they just gave me everything:

  • Cash
  • Match plays
  • Buffet Comps
  • souvenirs

I wouldn't think a casino would need prize insurance because they have the cash on hand. The vig on that insurance policy would be high. Jackpots hit frequently at a casino simply because of the volume.

A TV game show would want prize insurance so that it can stick to a budget. If a prize hits, a show could easily go way over budget and it would take a long time for advertising revenue to match the amount paid out in prizes.

Its not an insurance policy. Games like Let It Ride and Four Card Poker are licensed by the company that owns the patent on them. The casinos pay a fee to be able to offer these games and part of the bonus bet is paid to the license holder. In turn, they pay out the biggest jackpot. The casino lays out the money, but is reimbursed for it.
When Let It ride started the one dollar bonus bet some 15 years ago, the first 500( or so) people that hit a royal Flush with the bet were invited to a tournament where they played for a million dollar first prize. Since then, Shuffle Master has changed the bonus payouts, but they still are responsible for the payouts.
