Women tend to be very intelligent. The fact that many can't see through the helpless babe act should tell you who is smarter. I have a hard time finding people educated enough to have a good discussion on cutting edge science. Most people can't understand such things. I find more women able to hold up their end of such discussions than men in a casual atmosphere. A lot of guys like to act like they know a thing or two but this is usually an act. Women tend to be happy in their knowledge and not trying to impress people. I can tell you these humble intellects know a lot more than their outspoken male counterparts. This is simply anecdotal but is my experience here on the East Coast.

Sure, they are very intelligent, but on the average more so in the subjective ways than analytically. Boys and girls really are different, no shame in that. Women are good poker players and have the psychological skills to be much better than any guy. I wouldn't want to play poker against someone who can spot a bluff as easily as she can spot a fake designer label or a married guy with his ring off!

Lady AP's should understand that this is male territory they have entered, and male AP's tend to being coarse, aggressive guys who ply our trade in a vulgar environment. You don't want to be like the female reporter in the men's locker room- "OK guys, I'm in here now, so you have to cover yourselves up, and no more dirty talk!" That doesn't fly.

Yes. Actually not a problem, being enough of them prefer it that way.

I once witnessed a situation where a girl picked up a married guy, and wore his wedding band as her toe ring all weekend.

For starters, I can be just as vulgar as you guys but I prefer to act like a lady.
I do understand that it’s a male dominant society as I have spent my whole adult life trying to compete in a non-traditional female field of electronics. I guess I have just exhausted myself of having to compete with male engineers and technicians who offer no respect even when you are more competent, intellectual and knowledgeable than they.

Therefore, I should have known that the game of blackjack, which is also male dominant, that I should have to prove myself once again…but that’s okay…all I can say is “bring it on” see you at the tables, and oh, I will be the cute redheaded gal with all the chips in front of her…touché

Your feelings are understandable. And the situation is unavoidable.

But realize you do not have to prove yourself to anyone. Nobody here does, not unless we are sharing bankroll or results. So it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, right?

Don't let the general belief on female math skills bring you down. Use it to your advantage.

Male pit bosses, even if they could see you were a very intelligent bettor, would probably feel like a bully.

The reason for the traditional belief that men are smarter is because in the old days more men had access to education than women. Now more college graduates are women. When my daughter was in high school, most of the top kids were girls.

The fact that some men easily lose their mind the moment they see an attractive girl is enough to say some of the men are not as smart as they think!
