I like voodoo
Whatever else one can say about voodoo posts, they're more interesting to read than the several hundred threads asking whether $1802.37 is a sufficient bankroll if you Wong, or whether $5,000 is enough to justify quitting school and moving to Vegas.
How about a FAQ item addressing this, or maybe even a subforum where we can make fun of those people, instead of the voodoo crowd?
Don't have 150 max bets in your bankroll? Never read a blackjack book?
If you can answer "yes" to either of these questions, then you should:
- Not go into a casino
- Not post here
- Not even lurk here
Voodoo players help AP's. (Or, if you prefer, "AP players", or "advantage AP players", or whatever else you enjoy saying when you're tired of "personal PIN number".) Underfunded folks who haven't read a blackjack book just annoy us.

Sad but true.
That doesn't mean I can bring myself to enable or encourage them on the boards though.

There exist a vast number of intelligent posts about strategies not directly related to counting. But, progression systems are, in fact, an ignorant denial of math. If someone posted that drinking cyanide is good for you; would you demand that people refrain from responding?

No, but if one or two people said "I drank cyanide and lived!" he would demand a forum to discuss their techniques. "I'm going to Jonestown this weekend. Anyone got a winning system?"

Stupid people are people who don't know much about what they are talking about.
Ignorant people are people who actively avoid learning about the subjects they are talking about.
Liars are people who knowingly make false claims and spread misinformation.
Those are the three tenets of the voodoo forum. Everyone who takes this forum seriously is guilty of at least one of those, and everyone who has ever been banned from here has been guilty on multiple counts of all three.

This website has never banned anyone for posting concepts other than counting. As Qfit pointed out, we have several forums devoted exclusively to non-counting strategies. If you're so tired of being called a liar...

It is confusing to me for this site to have a "voodoo betting strategies" section and then ban people who post voodoo betting strategies.

I think the "Welcome..." sticky thread sums it up pretty well.
"The purpose of this forum is to educate people about gambling myths and how to spot scams and phony systems. This forum is not a place to promote your voodoo system, make false/unfounded claims about the effectiveness of such systems or spread inaccurate information about playing/betting strategies."

Then the name "voodoo betting strategies" for this section is really misleading. Something like "voodoo strategies don't work" would be better.

Again, I think the 27 links in the Welcome thread make it pretty clear.

All the same, I think a rebranding could be a useful thing. Something like 'Voodoo Debunking', perhaps.
No one ever reads the stickies in any forum before making their first post. (I know I don't! )
