whoaa. that explains a lot. Phil Ivey however, protested the locked accounts of US players and left the website long ago. wonder why other pros haven't been charged or left long ago, like phil. The poker world could get real ugly if the other pros of Team Full Tilt are found guilty of fraud.

I have never found a private game $5 and up that did not attract card cheats. But, if I wanted to limit the amount of cheating that could be done in a game, I would play in a some of the larger casinos, like the Wynn or the Venetian. At least in such places the cheating is somewhat limited compared to what they can do to you in a private game or on line. How many chances does the on-line world get? First, major on-line poker sites were using a back door to view the players hands, and now this, both scams done on a multi-million dollar scale. I'll take my chances with team play and card marking and whatever else goes on in the major casinos. The use of a house dealer, cameras, and casino security are helpful deterrents to cheating, although I realize that no casino can guarantee a game that is 100% on the square, even if they try.

Now what makes you think wynn or venetian is more secure than a smaller off strip poker room?

to be fair, that was russ hamilton acting alone when he gained access to a super user account to see opponents hole cards. it was laziness on absolute/UB's part that gained him the advantage.

I only believe that from talking with more sophisticated gamblers than myself who have related stories of lesser casinos involved in cheating customers. I do not know this from any evidence at my own disposal. It may be wrong, but it's all I have to go on. They tell me that larger casinos have too much to lose to be caught in any such activity, although within larger casinos, I suspect that some employee teams/crews/pits might engage in cheating activities for personal gain, either directly or by making their activities look more profitable than other groups within the casino. I also know that even the largest casinos do very little to monitor cheating in their poker rooms since they have little at stake. But I do doubt seriously that they might themselves participate in cheating customers in their poker rooms. I don't have that confidence with regard to smaller casinos. So in general, I feel somewhat precariously safe due to the house dealer, cameras and casino security, and more so if the casino is a major venue with a reputation and big bucks at stake.

The viewing of people's hands, to my understanding, involved more that one site and more than one person.
