Need advice.
Me and supercoolmancool both live in an area with very few casinos. The closest casino is an hour and a half away. The problem is that casino only has one 2-deck game with a 10 dollar minimum. We have been going once or twice per week, and we each play about 2 hours each session. I don't know how long we can last both counting at the same table. Right now supercoolmancool is spreading 10-50 and I am spreading 10 to two hands of 40. They probably aren't worried too much about our play, but with us both playing at the same table I don't know how long they will allow us to play. This is our closest casino at the moment, and would like to continue playing as long as possible. Anyone have any suggestions?

Others will probably have better advice, but here's my 2 cents. Are you both counting? If so, maybe only one should count while the other can act like a drunken fool and place his bets purely based on the other's bet? And then switch it up once and a while?

Gobbldegeek, I doubt that will work. I imagine they are already known patrons of the casino and that sort of "act" would very likely be recognized as out of character if pulled more than once or twice. I also doubt that you will both be able to continue going twice a week and play at the same time at the same table for very much longer before they catch on to you. I do not have a solution that you are likely to like. So much depends on how paranoid the casino you frequent is of Advantage Play.

We aren't very well known yet, as far as I know. But we couldn't use the drunk act since neither of us are 21.

Scott:
At your bet level and with your minimal spread, forget the drunk act and if you study the casino, you may need no act at all.
Is a $50 bet really considered a big bet in your casino?
Are there almost always green or black chip players on that double deck game?
Would you consider this casino a sweat joint so bad that if someone had a pile of green chips, 4 pits would hang over him with their tonges dripping?
Do you know that there are smart pits who may know that you count but will let you play because:
1. You do not spread 8-1 in a double deck game.
2. Your bet level is so low that you present no threat to the bottom line.
3. They would rather let you play than the possiblilty of a scene where other players leave.
What you will find happening in the typical tribal casino with a double deck game and a counter.
1. They let you play unless you bet too much.
2. They cut off a full deck or even more, making your counting information much less worthwhile or just worthless.
At your bet level, you should really not need much in the way of camo unless you are playing downtown in Vegas.

Yes, a 50 dollar bet is above average. They call out "Green action" when you bet 2 green chips.

Mostly red chip players. There are some players playing green, but not nearly as many as are playing red.

I havn't felt any heat yet. But they do watch the games closely.

I spread from 10 to two hands of 40. If I want to continue playing should I lower my spread a little, to say, 10-50? I played my 10 to 2x40 spread at zengrifter's recommendation.

Some dealers give penetration that I would estimate at 65-70%, and others will cut 90%.
Also, I don't use any camo whatsoever.

If you decide to lower your spread then you should raise the minimum, not lower the max bet. Lowering your max bet will reduce your EV too much. Instead of $10-2x$40 try $20-2x$40. You can still parlay your $20 bets into $40 or 2x$40 bets without looking unnatural and your spread will be smaller with a similar EV. That will work best if you can sit out a few hands during severely negative counts (they usually don't last too long in DD games). Better yet, if you and supercoolmancool are always playing at the same table then you can team up and use an opposition betting strategy. That way neither of you will be spreading directly with the count but your combined bets will still correlate to your approximate advantage. It will also give you both more of a crazy and unpredictable betting pattern that bit bosses like to see.
Also, you can reduce your spread quite a bit if a dealer is giving deep penetration without sacrificing EV. You could use a smaller spread for the "deep" dealer and reserve your big spread for the "shallow" dealers.

Assuming that the casino also has a shoe game, you shoulkd each be a a different table and when the count goes up at your table signal the other guy to come right over. With the right crazy fun-loving act you guys can do this all night. zg

Just curious how you are allowed to gamble if you are under 21....
