? on where to cut?

I noticed several dealers would turn the decks towards me when it was my turn to cut. This way,I could see the bottom card.Once,it was an Ace. How can you use knowledge of the bottom card to your advantage.

If you're at first base then just put the cut card ONE card in, right by the ace and you will cut it to be the first card delt. I doubt they will let you cut that thin though...

You'd want to cut exactly 1 or 1 1/2 decks in front of the ace. Then you know that the ace will be either the 52nd or 78th card out of the shoe. The "easy" part is cutting exactly the right amount of cards. Check out Blackbelt in Blackjack, there are a number of drills listed to practice to get good at this technique.
