Meeting People Section

I think we should have a section where we basically talk about meet-ups we've had so people can kind of earn "cred" on this site. I've met so many awesome APs on this site but I know of some people who've met up with people and they were a complete joke.

The cred is fine but the flip side is humiliation. Can people on this site do it in a tactful way? How do you say someone is a "joke" without hard feelings?

I honestly would not feel bad at all about someone's feelings if they post like they know how to play and then prove consistently that they can't.

I am aware of some. I think just vouching for the credible people would be enough. If nobody vouches for you, you are either a loner or a "joke". Their posts would let you decide which.

Can't we do that already through private messages? If there is a concern then eventually it will be revealed either through observation of their play or by warning of others. That has been my experience. No need to embarrass anyone. Some people may not be very good at counting or AP but they enjoy the game and the friendships.

All that being said, douche bags do need to be outted!!!!!!

I've met up with several people on this site and every single one of them was very highly talented, at the very least in SOME area of expertise.

As far as having a section for this: No matter how you slice it; this is the internet. If member A were to vouch for member B, how do I know that member A isn't FOS? Or WORSE; what if A were to badmouth B (which would be GUARANTEED to happen, and happen often, if such a section were to be introduced to the site)?

Exactly. Luckily; most of the real idiots reveal their stupidity after only a few posts anyway. They end up outing THEMSELVES.

Yep. The more someone says, the more chance you can tell if someone is just full of it. Has nothing to do with luck.
