What am I missing? How is anyone using Christianity to profit off card counting?

common religion was a real good recruitment factor for the comrades. these were good-souled gents among whom trust issues all but disappeared.

I was thinking that one difference might be that they would "feel" it easier to trust on another than those among the general population. However, for me there would still be the "wolf in sheep's clothing" factor to deal with. Call me paranoid. lol

Interesting that this thread has taken that particular turn, as that is one of the principal story lines of the film. I recently viewed it, and highly recommend it. Hopefully it will be available on DVD soon.

Frankly, I feel that this entire thread flirts dangerously with the subject of religion. zg

Religion touches every facet of life. That's why we can't talk about it. Can't you see what would happen if we brought God into everything?
Men despise religion. They hate it and are afraid it may be true. --Blaise Pascal

Yeah basically trust played a huge part in why they only used Christians. A very interesting and at one point shocking (to me) part of the film.

The last time I did a serious business deal with bible-thumping Christians, I finally figured out that they were screwing me - I confronted the senior principal
and told him my revelation: "You guys are f**king me," to which he raised his hand, gesturing to the sky above and proclaimed: "Its not I who doeth the works."
True story. z g
Ps - They never did trust me, because I was "not saved"

You should of smashed his back windscreen in with a baseball bat and quoted
'God works in mysterious ways'
