I've DONE it!
There's a time and a place for almost ANYTHING. Hitting hard 20 at the proper time always results in a gain of about 15% or more in EV.

I have a guess
Worst. Ploppy. Ever. would try to buy insurance with a dealer 10, better yet, a dealer 2 through 9. And then he would go into a fist-pumping rant that the dealer is scamming him by not allowing him to buy insurance on his 10,10 vs. dealer 6?
Do we have a winner?
Second guess: Worst. Ploppy. Ever. would stand on a low soft hand, like he stands with A,4 vs. dealer 10 or A.
Third guess: Worst. Ploppy. Ever. would stand on a 12 vs. dealer 10 or A.
Forth guess: Worst. Ploppy. Ever. would do a terrible pair split, like splitting 6,6 vs. dealer 10 during a high count.
I'm throwing a lot of crap at the wall, something's got to stick here.

I seen ploppies that split every pair they get, even fives. It doesn't matter what the upcard is.

I saw a guy that doubled everytime he had a total of exactly seven against any up card, and never doubled any other hand!

Do what the next guy is doing!
I gave off an unintended aura of competence one day. The guy next to me, won over by my winning double downs, doubled all his hands for the rest of the shoe!
