Mister Rogers never was in the military.
Bob keeshan- Captain Kangroo- enlisted in the US Marines but never saw combat. He was too young to enlist earlier in the war, and the war ended before he could be deployed overseas.
Lee Marvin was a Marine, serving with my father in the Fourth Marine Division. Mr Marvin was wounded at Saipan, my father at Iwo and they ended up together in a rehab in Hawaii.

Default Howdy neighbor

The old adage" good fences make good neighbors" comes from cattlemen I think because it protects both from mistaken property crossing over. We are neighbors in this forum and I would rather not reply to a verbal assault on my person than to get into a confrontation with my neighbor. As far as wariors are concerned what you don't know or see about another could be deadly.

Thanks. You're obviously adept at "googleing" (the first two). Guess I should try it sometime.

Its actually come up a few times. Bob Keeshan was the longtime mayor of a small town on Long Island and an active member of the Marine Corp League.
While my father was retired from the Army, he had served in the USMC during WW2, and was involved in a few charity events with the League.

Google can tell you what someone typed in, it doesn't mean that the entry was accurate at all.
