Holland Casino do they shuffle after each round?

Holland Casino is owned by the Dutch goverment and they have locations in alot of dutch citys. Now I was reading there blackjack rules, and I came across something like this

''after the round is done all used cards are then put back in the cardshuffel machine''

I guess that this will not allow card counting of any kind.

I'm wondering if this is really the case in holland casinos (it could be I just misunderstoud) and if this kind of thing happens in other casinos, maybe some dutch people on this board who visited holland casino can clear this up for me.

Hi, I'm Dutch and I've been on the site also. Now I haven't gone to Holland Casino (since I'm just 16 )

And I think what they mean by a "round" is (when playing a 6-Deck) when all the cards in the deck have been dealt. Or the card have been dealt down to 15 or whatever.

I'm not sure of this but at least that's what I got from their site.

You can aslways ask addtional info though.

P.S: If you're gonna go to Holland to play in a Casino. please let me know because I'm very interested what gambling in a Dutch casino's like.

The answer would depend on what type of shuffle machine they are using. If it is just an automatic shuffle machine that takes a full shoe and shuffles it, that wouldn't require that they insert the discards after each "hand" is played. However, it sounds like it may be a continuous shuffle machine, which does, in fact, get the discards placed back into the machine after each "hand" is completed.

I've played with those machines once; and it is possible to get the same physical card over and over on successive hands, because they usually have three or four decks shuffled together in the machine. Once the dealer settles all of the wagers on the table, he returns the discards to the machine, where they are shuffled with the rest of the pack. Then the dealer takes more carfs from the machine to make the hands for the next round.

Normal terminology is that "hand" means the cards of an individual player and "round" means one hand for each player and the dealer. THat is the way I read "round" in the quoted text above.

From the way you describe it, it sure sounds to me like a "round" is one round of hands. Cards are then fed back into a CMS (Continuous Shuffle Machine.) This is not a good thing!

These damned machines are catching on pretty heavily in the USA especially on the low limit tables. And, if this is the case, you are correct....card counting is not possible because the deck goes back to "zero" after every round of hands.

you're right. Continuous Shuffle Machines are used in all Holland Casino's. Makes card counting impossible..

I was gonna learn to count cards and when I was 18 I was gonna go to Holland Casino to Win at Blackjack... I guess this is impossible now.

If these things are cathing up in the USA as well... then what future is there left for Card counters ??

Yep, "That Sucks." Never played one and never will. Yet, I see them in casinos down in Oklahoma and the tables are generally full. Ranks right up there with the trend to switch to 6:5 payouts on Blackjack in my opinion.
