Default Doubling After Splitting Aces

"If you split a pair of aces, you will receive only one card on each of the hands. However, you may "double down" and receive 1 more card on each ace."

This is the rules, on the website, at one of the casinos I'm going to. Is this a common rule? Ive never heard of doubling after u split aces...

DSA exists in a few Midwestern games. I believe you can split the aces, and then double the bet, but you still get only one card. Not sure though.

How much advantage would that add to an 8deck, DAS, DA2, S17 game?
