Default St. Maarten

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced any of the casinos in St. Maarten. They are all a little ratty, but I think the nicest is Casino Royale near Simpson Bay (by the airport), although the rules for other games, such as Antillean Poker, are not as favorable to the player as the ones on Front St. in Philipsburg (Coliseum, Rouge et Noir, etc). I have been to most, if not all of the casinos on the island. Anyone have any comments or want to discuss??

Just got back from St. Maarten, and had the chance to scope out a few games . . .

Stayed at Westin Dawn Beach, pretty nice hotel with a casino in the lobby, but the game wasn't worth it, literally 65% pen at best. Otherwise it's 6D, DOA, DAS, S17.

Princess and Colessium Casinos had CSM's . . . don't waste your time.

Hollywood Casino and Atlantis were my faves . . . 6D, DOA, DAS, S17, 75% pen on average, sometimes even better, rarely worse. Table limit was only $300, though, and most folks weren't even green-chipping so you may stick out like a sore thumb.

Didn't go to Casino Royale or Tropicana. Dolphin Casino table min was $3 and max was $50; didn't play there. Rouge et Noir had European no-hole game but some interesting side bets (They had a suited A-2-3-4-5-6 bonus for $25,000!!; not 25,000:1. I think their suited 7-7-7 bonus was $2000). Played just a little bit but didn't like the no-hole rule so we made it short; plus gf was hungry.

I would have loved to have played at the Diamond Casino in Phillipsburg as the game was very similar to Hollywood and Atlantis, but my gf got squirrely from the rough-looking crowd . . . oh well looks like I'll go back solo :-)

Hope this helps.

Default Worthless

A-2-3-4-5-6 bonus for $25,000 is worth virtually nothing.

I have been playing for decades and have never seen it.

This "bonus" is not worth computing the odds on.
