Default AC advise?

Going to be in AC next month. Don't know how much BJ I'll be able to play, but I was wondering if anyone had any advise. From what I've been able to gather, most of the tables are crowded and limits go way up in the afternoons. I was thinking about wonging a few shoes when I found the right opportunities, but it sounds like they don't allow mid-deck entry on a lot of tables. Anybody have any advise?

All the casinos have some games that allow mid shoe entry. If you are backcounting, one store is pretty much like another, and you can never predict what the crowds and limits are going to be like. You know the drill- look for good pen and be patient. And beware of H17, which has invaded a few stores on their lower limit games.

If you've never been to AC, prepare for a shock. The city is nasty filthy and sullen. If you can't believe a Hooters girl is capable of having an ugly attitude, just check out the Hooters in AC. Good food is very hard to find and the best you'll likely be able to do is the Hard Rock Cafe and the restaurants in the Marketplace (cheap mockup of the Paris in LV) at the Tropicana.

And do NOT walk anywhere but the Boardwalk at night!

Doesn't sound like the AC I go to.A typical tourist won't even see the less than desirable parts of town,so they might as well not exist.I walk Pacfic Avenue any time of the night,although theres not much reason unless you are out clubbing.Its a town for driving and taking the Jitney(a small fleet of 10 passenger vans that run 24 hours,every few minutes.
Playing conditions are poor on the weekends,much better during the week.

Well that's true, Pacific Ave. proper is OK (except in that part down near the Showboat) but some of the sidestreets between the Boardwalk and Pacific are death. Remember AP's are walking with bankrolls, and a lot of people not from the NYC area don't recognize the warning signs of a dangerous situation as readily as you and I do. To put it in LV terms, I'd say the casino area of AC has a danger level comparable to Downtown, and the rest of AC is comparable to LV between the Stratosphere and Downtown.

Regarding weekend vs. weekday, one thing I've noticed recently is that it's not all that much better on the weekdays. AC loves to manage their tables full 7 days a week so on a Tuesday afternoon it can be crowded. And also the Oriental players prefer the weekdays and they tend to play very slowly. If I had to pick an 8-hour shift to play in, I'd say Saturday morning 5AM-1PM.

The streets down around the old Worlds Fair were pretty bad,but I've never run into problems elsewhere.
I don't play much BJ in AC anymore,so I can't help with that.

The handful of times that I have been to AC, I've never really had a problem with it. It's a tourist place, so you're going to have your touristy type problems. It isn't Mogadishu or anything, but it isn't particularly pretty. None of it bothers me per se, but I can see how after dark some might be a little unnerved. As my step father always says, "Be aware of your surroundings."

Default AC Info

I have been going to AC every couple of months for the past four years and although it's not the prettiest place in the world I do enjoy the casinos.
You should be able to find $10 and $15 tables anytime during the week at Bally's or the Wild West. Mid entry is always allowed at these tables. On the weekends they still have the lower limit tables but they are harder to find and are packed. I was at Ceasars a couple of weeks ago on a saturday and even found a $15 table there.

Yeah I had a hell of a run-in with a crack whore who tried to extort money from me in an elevator. I pretended I was complying with her demand and told her to follow me to my room for the money, and I took a quick right onto the casino floor instead. My territory. She was mad as hell but she didn't dare follow me out there, and when I turned around again she had fled.

The only really nice place in AC is the Borgata. 6D with decent pen too. But the limits tend to be high with NMS. Hilton used to be my favorite place to play but those 6D games went all NMS. Trump Plaza has decent 6D now, about half NMS. Generally in AC I just walk up and down through the stores on the Boardwalk, looking for good pen and bad dealers. It's a grind, but not so bad if you are a grinder.

NMS = no mid-shoe spreading?
