Default ABC tinkers with 9/11 drama

By Steve Gorman Fri Sep 8, 10:20 PM ET

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Under pressure from former President
Bill Clinton and the Democratic Party
, ABC scrambled on Friday to make 11th-hour changes to a miniseries suggesting he was inattentive to the Islamic militant threat that led to the September 11 attacks.

Officials at the Walt Disney Co.-owned network said they were still tinkering with the five-hour production, titled "The Path to 9/11," which is scheduled to air without commercial interruption in two parts on Sunday and Monday.

Gee, Maybe they mentioned the fact that when the Sudanese govt. offered to hand over Osama, he gave some limp dick excuse for why he couldn't.

Or perhaps they wanted to paint a more accurate description of what really happened.
Out of curiosity, what charges were there against OBL at the time? Was he a fugitive from justice?Had he been charged with any crime under our laws?
Remember our laws? The one thing that used to set us apart from the rest of the world?

They said he was involved with bombing the USS Cole.

And don't forget the first WTC bombing.

at the end of the day, will we ever know ? Maybe if we we're content with what we have as individuals, a nation, maybe then things would be a little simpler...maybe not

The issue here is that individuals ARE probably content. It's the elected folks who aren't content.

You mean WE gave some excuse - of course, being that he's some sort of deep-cover operative. Anyway YES - they needed to take that part out, I read. zg

Unless I'm mis-reading the dates, the Cole happened afterward.
Living in NYC,I followed the first trials carefully, and at the time the blind shiek was supposed to be the mastermind.Bin Laden was never accussed of anything at the time.Same thing with Mogidishu.Read Black Hawk Down,a book written before Sept. 11th and no where is Al-Queda mentioned. Now,the whole episode gets blamed on them.In a few years, they will be blamed for the fall of Siagon.
