How can I get more comp points?

I play at a couple local casinos that have this great deal where you accumulate points while you play and you can cash them out whenever you want. In all I have made $1,000's in comps alone from these couple casinos. Now the one I frequent the most has this deal one day a week that they pay TRIPLE points. Game is 6d s17,das,no sur, da2. pen varies, it is pretty shitty though in general. Once in a while certain dealers will cut off 1.25-1.5 decks, usually they cut off 1.5-1.75. The table max is $100, you can play up to 2 hands at a time. So here is how I've been playing it. 2x100 off the top usually or 1x$100. When the count drops to a tc of worse than -2 i sit out for the rest of the shoe and i grab a beverage or hit up the bathroom. when the count is "neutral" I play 1x$100, and if it goes positive enough to raise my bet i play 2x$100. According to BJRM, Im playing about a even game of blackjack. If the pen is good i may be getting $20/hr positive EV. Now so far I seem to be avg. $60/hr in comps. The PB said that they base your play on your avg bet and the amount of time you play. It doesnt matter how much you buy in for, and i have no reason to disbelieve them based on my experience. Now is there anyway I can get more money out of this game? I was thinking of asking them to raise the limits on the table ($200 is there max), but I dont think they will do this. I think if i just sit there and play 2X$100 the whole time I willl be losing too much on the actual game to make up for the possible increase I may be getting in comps. As for the other casino I play at I'm not sure of how they rate players. If anyone has any tips to get more comps without losing much in EV i would really appreciate it.

Comps are so tempting but you want to be really careful about playing for them. Remember they can take your comps away any time they want to. Have you calculated the difference between playing the game as you are playing it now and using a 1-10 spread or whatever you normally use on a 6D game? I'm guessing you'll be better off with the spread.

One way to increase your comp rating is social engineering. Your average bet is kind of arbitrary and the PC has discretion, especially when they see your bet moving around a lot, they tend to round up if they like you and ignore your zeroes when you Wong out of the game. I spent a night literally holding hands with an older female PC as I played, for comps. Also find out if the PC is dual-rate and if they are, toke at strategic times, because they get a share of the tokes and they will rate you better enough to make it worth it. It's just a way they have of transferring money from the casino to themselves via you.

I've made $3,200 in cash comps in the last two months, while winning 4 out of 5 trips all in the same casino. One trick of course is ratholing. Slipping chips away makes you look like you are losing more when you lose, which of course reflects in the comps, as well as winning less when you win. Cass, you probably already know this stuff, but some basics of course are... don't do it when you are playing heads up (they will know), have someone else cash those gathered chips up and NEVER EVER pull them out once you stash em. However there is only so much you can stash per trip and it ain't all that much.

Another way is to increase your average bet when the PB is looking, but of course this can be bad for EV especially if its a negative count. In general its good to be friendly to the crew and a comment like "help me out boss, I lost a lot today" when you leave the table might make a little difference.

I agree with you guys that the buy in amount probably matters, though I can't prove it.

One time I ratholed a black chip when noone was looking. Later on they were counting the chips on the table and they said something like "We're missing 100". Then the pit boss said, "Oh, he has it in his pocket." I know for a fact he didnt see me put it there, they must have watched from the sky. What a tight casino, they know where every single black chip is at all times.

one place that i play at isn't any good for comp play. i rat hole chips there to keep the pit from knowing how much i win. the way i do it though is partly in such a way that the pit sees me doing it. infact i'm constantly taking chips out of my pocket and putting them in. sometimes i'll take a handful out of my pocket right in front of the pit boss and count them and then put them back in. this way it's not as if i'm hiding the chips but trying to take some out of play in a quirky kind of lame brained money management scheme. then when i decide to leave the table and they want to color me up i'll take some but not all of the chips out of my pocket and pile them up on the table. i believe this keeps them guessing as far as how much i've made.

best regards,

On an extreme level of the buyin affecting play, I've been at some riverboat casinos in Missouri (where using a player's card is mandatory). And I've seen a phenomenon at at least a couple tables: If you go up to a table with $20 to buy in, they'll swipe the card to make sure you're not over your limit, and had the card back. If you buy in with $100, they'll save it to have you rated.

Easy ways to get more comps for your buck
1)don't play as many hands per hour and bet more.If you are betting $100 a hand for 60 hands, you risk the same if you go to $150 for 40 hands.
2)you play less hands by taking a bathroom break at least every 45 minutes and try to time your return for just after a new shoe starts(if they have no mid-shoe entry),always getting up to smoke so as to not bother the players and dealers( double brownie points for this). You sit out hands and the dealer and pit think you care about them.
3) try to be at the table as they introduce new cards and do the re-upping of chips.Another 5-10 hands you don't play but are credited with.
4)BY Far The Most Important-Be nice. To the dealers, the pit crew, the other players. You want to leave a positive impression for when they are writing up your play, not a " I'm glad that jerk finally left" type.
5) play on the 2X,3X points days.

Now that's devious. I like it!

Never rathole black on a green or lower chip table!!!

Many casinos when they check the rack will note the black and higher chips. The thing is at most casinos the green are not tracked and you can carefully (make sure you are not seen) ratehole green all day. Look at what happens when a player colors up. He has $435, he counts up $400 in green, gives it to the dealer and 4 blacks go out and often the pit notes that, but a green and two reds are not noted. The guy could have left with 3 greens, but did not, so you find an opportunity to put two in your pocket. Now a new player comes in with multiple color chips, another opportunity to rathole. Do this a few times per hour and you are a loser in the casino's opinion even if you are a net winner.
If picked up by the eye or not, you already know that this casino is keeping track of blacks, so pocket green.

That is why you don't do it heads up. If three other black chippers other than me come and go from my table, I am pretty safe since they have no idea who left with what.

Is it true that the over head cameras only see or record in black & white? If so, it would be more difficult for surveillance to differentiate, sometimes, between red and green chips. A player could have a red chip on top of three greens which may, at least, keep the people upstairs guessing what chips are actually missing.

I seriously doubt overhead the guys watching the cameras are watching people pocket their own chips. They are there for security against cheaters.Do you really think they are going to call down to a PB because they see a guy pocket his own chip?Just because you don't see a PB watching you doesn't mean he isn't.Even if you pocket a black chip while his back is turned,he is aware who had it,sees its off the table and adds 1+1 and comes up with 2. Its no rocket science.

No, the cameras are in color.

You’re right. They are mainly looking for cheating employees, occasional cheating players and women with low-cut blouses (if they are paying attention at all!).

Well, I don’t know if a PB could add up 1+1 :), but you’re right about the missing chips. It’s always best to hide the same denominations as you are playing. You only need to hide 2 units per hour to cover your EV and look like a losing player in their database.
