Couting with other players at the table

#1
This, as far as I've read/seen, hasn't been brought up very much. And that is - does having more players at the table in essence make card counting 'less effective'? Of course, USUALLY card counters prefer to play the dealer head on (I do) because it makes counting easier and the count (when high) has a better chance of staying high due to less cards being played out. Of course, the opposite is true, but players can always leave the table if the count becomes horrendous.

What really gets me is when I am playing double deck with 3 other people and the TC gets to be +2 before the new deal. This in itself is a MARGINAL advantage and it just seems that I am 'dividing' my advantage with the other players. Is there any validity to this statement or am I just being paranoid? :p. Insight please!
