cutting to an ace

hi there, ive been learning to count cards for the last few months and am interested in finding out more about a other advantage plays,
A am currently practicing cutting to a specific spot from the end of decks,i.e 52 cards from the bottom card, if the bottom card is an ace and i manage to steer it so its one of my first cards my advantage would be around 51%, does anybody know on average the amount of aces that will show up as the last card when the dealer turns the cards over ready for cut card??

Also, i think i read that if you can steer a ten as your first card you will also have a good advantage, does anybody know the exact advantage of a ten as your first card???

With steering aces and tens to myself and occasionally using a ten to bust the dealer(not sure about this yet), could this be profitable using only these 2(3) plays???

To put a 10 in your hand as your first card gives you about a 13% advantage. By just using these couple of plays you mentioned it would be very difficult to play a profitable game. Although if played correctly these techniques can be very strong weapons in your blackjack arsenal, they're best used as a compliment to a strong counting system. To truly play with an advantage you must count cards with what ever system suits you, and when the time arises for more advanced techniques, thats just a bonus if you know how to take advantage of them.

To me it seems that ace cutting, ace sequencing and, card steering are more team sports where a group takes over a whole table and starts using these techniques. Myself, I've taken up shuffle tracking and cutoff tracking to add to my counting skills. I see what's thrown into the discard pile for the first 1/2 deck and then see whats thrown into the 3 1/2 deck position and see what gets married together. This is assuming a 2 pass stepladder and R&R shuffle of 6 decks. I'll also practice Snyders technique of coloring one side of 1 1/2 decks red to simulate my cutoffs and mimick the house shuffle in the hotel room. This way, if the count is high plus or minus I can cut appropriatly and use the NRS formula to adjust my count for that half of the shoe.It's been working pretty good so far me. Sometimes you get to the point where you've cut enough high cards together and you'll be able to cut to them through several shoes. Ya gotta love when that happens with max bets out at the begining of the shoe and you see the paint fly.
One other thing ,if your going to practice ace cutting, I think your better off doing the cut at 78 cards, most casinos want you to cut at least 1 1/2 decks from the end.
