Default Crazy Horse Too UPDATE

Signorelli tells the City Council he didn't know his general manager,
assistant general manager, and bookkeeper's last names are "Rizzolo"

In an effort to rid the violence-plagued Crazy Horse Too of the Rizzolo family influence, the Las Vegas City Council on October 4 granted restaurant owner Michael Signorelli a ninety day temporary liquor license.

After four years of undercover investigations resulting in the conviction of 17 bar employees and its' owner, the bar that City Attorney Brad Jerbic described as a "public nuisance," and the U.S. Department of justice called a "threat to the community" was re-licensed against the wishes of FBI officials.

To make this possible, Signorelli purportedly agreed to pay $14,000 per day "rent" to convicted felon Rick Rizzolo to have the option of purchasing the dilapidated topless bar for $45 million -- a purchase price far above that of much newer venues in Las Vegas. Rizzolo is a close friend and former client of Mayor Oscar Goodman.

The Council was told that letting the bar re-open was the only way Rizzolo could pay $17 million dollars to clear his debts to the IRS and a beating victim.

The Council was fully aware but did not question Signorelli about his two bankruptcies in a fifteen year period, and a 1998 lawsuit by his employees for allegedly "looting" their pay checks at a Mesquite casino he opened, then closed one year later.

Within hours of the Crazy Horse Too re-opening, reports that the family of Rick Rizzolo, the convicted felon who was barred by the Federal Court from ever again stepping foot on his own property, were back in the topless bar holding managerial positions.

Strip club operator accepts hiring ban

Council blocks hiring anyone with Rizzolo ties

REVIEW-JOURNAL

It looks like the Rizzolos will have to find a new family business.

The city continued its crackdown of the Crazy Horse Too Gentleman's Club on Wednesday, barring anyone who is a "blood relative" or has been married to a family member of owner Rick Rizzolo from being employed by the topless club or even stepping into the place.

The city's new conditions on leaseholder Mike Signorelli's liquor license come after two family members were revealed to be working at the strip club, according to City Attorney Brad Jerbic.

"The goal of replacing the old regime with Mr. Signorelli was a complete divorce," Jerbic said.

Signorelli last month promised the city that he wanted to reopen the topless club under a clean slate. On Wednesday, Signorelli said he had been unaware that family members were connected to Rizzolo. Signorelli's lawyer, Steve Caruso, said Signorelli had been busy getting the business off the ground.

Signorelli agreed to the new requirements.

On Sept. 6, the City Council imposed a $2.2 million fine and revoked Rizzolo's liquor license after Rizzolo, the company that owned Crazy Horse Too, and 16 club employees entered into federal plea agreements. A District Court judge later reduced the fine to $1 million, maximum.

The City Council agreed to issue a new liquor license for Signorelli last month. He is leasing the building for $400,000 a month, with one of the conditions that no one who pleaded guilty to federal crimes be involved in the business. The license is subject to a three-month review.

Council members pointed to members of the public who reported that Rizzolos continued to work there. Former councilman and relentless Crazy Horse Too foe Steve Miller has sent numerous e-mails and messages to the City Council alleging that the Rizzolos continued to operate the club.

In one, dated Oct. 20, he wrote, "Rick Rizzolo's 22-year-old son Dominic is now running the CH2 (Crazy Horse Too) with Rick's brother Ralph as the number two guy."

Jim DiFiore, business and licensing director, said the city does routine inspections of all city facilities, as do members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Councilman Steve Ross told Signorelli he was "shocked" to see him "again in such a short amount of time."

"I hope you recommit yourself to making significant changes," Ross told him.

LAS VEGAS - In the spirit of Vincent "The Chin" Gigante and Michael Jackson, convicted racketeer Rick Rizzolo is also claiming to be too sick to show up for his legal obligations.

First scheduled to be sentenced on September 15 for his conviction on tax evasion and racketeering, Rizzolo has since claimed health problems and succeeded in having his sentencing delayed until December 8.

Rizzolo could be in contempt of court
New RICO lawsuit claims Rick Rizzolo still runs the Crazy Horse.
A Federal Court Judge may throw the book at him and put the
building and land on the auction block after three buyouts
were squelched in favor of a straw man with no money.

LAS VEGAS - It always amazes me when a big story hits just days before Christmas. I've come to the conclusion that scammers use this time to try to pull fast ones because reporters and honest public servants are usually on vacation and don't want to pay much attention to negative stuff this time of year.

My untimely story asks the question -- What's the value of a mob run topless bar in the seediest part of Las Vegas? Is it worth an amazing $40 to $48 million after its owner and sixteen employees were convicted of racketeering, and beating up customers who refused to pay inflated credit card tabs? A brand new Federal RICO law suit really opened a can of worms the week before Christmas.

Strip club facing deadline to get liquor license
from Las Vegas

4-16-07

LAS VEGAS The Las Vegas City Council is again considering the fate of a well-known strip club just off the Las Vegas Strip.

A temporary liquor license the council granted to Crazy Horse Too manager Michael Signoreli expires tomorrow (Wednesday). Not having a liquor license would hurt the business. But the city has already granted two temporary licenses -- and can't grant any more.Signoreli took over after long-time owner Rick Rizzolo was convicted of tax evasion and sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison. Rizzolo agreed to sell his interest in the club.

16 other current and former Crazy Horse Too employees also pleaded to reduced charges and were sentenced to end a decade-long federal probe of whether the club was tied to the mob.
