Where Are The Best Games In Vegas Today?
I went to Las Vegas last month. Best game I found on the strip was at the Wyn, and Mandolay Bay (DD, DAH, no Double on Splits, H17, 3/2 BJ. Deck penetration was great at the Wyn, nearly 3/4 of the cards were played. The down side was they were games exclusively @ $100 and up tables. The best BJ ,period, was at the Las Vegas Club (Single Deck, DAH except splits, and 3/2 BJ payout). Now they watched the game like a hawk, and reminded the dealer to shuffle after five hands and I was the only one at the table. They had two tables like this, one at $5, and one green. I played at the LV Club and left up 400%. I had a good run, but had to attempt to conceal my counting asking the dealer to count my hand if I was dealt more that 3 cards.
Have I missed any casinos with better games? Everone had single deck, at 6/5, and no doubling on splits. Are there currently any Single Deck Double Deck games on the strip that stay on soft 17, or double on splits.
Does anyone know were, today, actually this coming Friday, where the best Black Jack games are in Las Vegas?

I'll be out in Vegas next week and will be staying downtown. I've played (and stayed) at both the Vegas Club and at Plaza. Of the two, I prefer the Plaza. When I was out there, the DD games at Vegas club hit on soft 17's but otherwise had good table rules. Plaza stands on soft 17's to give the house a .2% less advantage (ie, better for the player). I think both casinos have $5 tables 24/7 with this game though I might be mistaken about Vegas Club (they may raise their low limit to $10 in the evenings and weekends.) 4-Queens has a pretty good single deck 3:2 game at the $5 level. You might give it a try. I believe they have the Royal Marriage side bet on that table if you go for that sort of stuff. BTW....some of the tables at Plaza also have that side bet on DD games.
Binion's also has some good games though they do not S-17's. They do raise the minimums in the evenings. I haven't played at the Golden Nugget. Just off of Fremont is the Lady Luck and El Cortez and Gold Spike (I think that's the Spike). They have some pretty interesting games too <LOL>. Or at least, they have some interesting clientele!

Just got back.
Just returned from weekend trip to Vegas. Played the single deck game at the green table at the Vegas club, until the third supervisor came down to watch my game. Hit a BJ on the last hand of the deck, up 300%. Got nervous and left (after I was offered a meal and a room if I would only get a comp. card.) Played the Plaza next, at the DD game. Good rules (3/2 BJ, S17.) Left up 500% after a few hours. Same offer of room and dinner from the pit boss when I left.
Took a break and went to the Mandolay Bay pit. Could now afford the DD games with best rules at the high roller room, all black. Tripled in an hour and a half, and retired gaming for the trip. Had to let the wife carry some cash to get on the plane.
In total, I had four lossing streaks of 12 hands or more; fortunately I was at the table minimun for most of those hands thanks to keeping count. Best winning streak was five hands, including one BJ. My lowest single bet was $25 and my highest bet was $1000, per hand. Total hours played was about 12. My best guess would be about 1000 hands played. My total bank roll tripled on this trip.
My question for the pros is this - - Was this hot, cold, or about average play for playing perfect strategy, and using a staight Hi-Low count with Ace side count?

Don't need a "pro" here <LOL> I think any of the heavies would take your produce and run with it! I mean, even with counting, you are looking at something around or below a 2% advantage. You increased your BR by 200%. I'd say that was acceptable.

I'm not a counter and not a pro by any means; but that sounds like a good trip to me. Based on what I've learned, however, it is probably a little on the positive end of variance, although still within the standard deviation.

You mentioned you spread b/w 25 and 1000 (I am going to assume during your 12 hours which included different minimum bets because you ended up playing in the pit), but what is your typical spread given your minimum bet? This will give people a better indication of whether or not it was typical.

if you were betting 1-5
200-400-600-800-$1000 top bet
you left the table when -3 or more
you should of made
-8654$ and +19226 with the rules you stated
If you made %500 gains from your original bankroll, I can tell you right now that your bankroll was 1000%+ lower then it should have been. and you were extreamly lucky that you didnt tap out. but apparently that was not the case so if you really made 500% profits I tip my hat to you, from the little table in the cheap seats.

Admittedly had some reasonable luck
As I stated before, my total bankroll tripled. It went up 300%.By the time I reached my last table, @ $200 min H17, split all, dd all, double deck, my cash, and available markers exceeded 50 betting units, at the table minimum. Yes, I am accutely aware of the potential risks of casino credit, not much different that my margin account at brokers office. Fortunately, never had to pull a marker. Personally, I would have left the pit first, back to green action.
Deck penitration was damn close to 75%, and, obviously, my most profitable hands on the high bets were near the end of the decks, on +5 and higher counts.
It was a short trip, time was limited and I did push the limits of my bank roll.
However, I don't think I exceeded a "standard deviation." I just had a good run, some earned, some luck.
