Anyone see that new simpsons episode tonight?
Tonight's episode of "the simpsons" featured homer joining the army. The show just basically made fun of the army, all of the soldiers in it, our occupation in Iraq and the U.s. government. I was shocked by the content of tonights show. If anyone saw it you will know what I am talking about. The show was blantly making fun of army men and women, it was the most hardcore anti american, anti military piece of trash I have ever seen. Its really sad because a show I had loved for many years I will never watch again. I know it isnt a popular war but my God man, this was complete disrespect to anyone who has ever served or anyone who lives in the United states as far as im concerned.

I think they are making a Simpsons movie due out next year.

I havent really watched it much for a few years either. I think the show has really went downhill. I hope that movie flops It looked stupid on the short preview they had. I also think everyone involved with the creation of tonights episode should go move to France if they dont live there already.

I've only watched Simpsons a few times, but episodes like this could make me a regular. Ironic that it was shown on FOX! And without criticism from FOX News! zg

Yeah i thought of that too. I like south park a lot. I wonder if they have made a episode with this same theme or something similar. I honestly dont think it will be like the simpsons that was on the other night, but who knows.

I guess I just havent been paying attention
This guy said it well:
"I'm a big fan of The Simpsons, the longest running animated series on TV. I think they're up to 19 years or something now. The show has always been hopelessly politically incorrect, which is one of the things that endears it to its fans.
However, this season something has happened. The show has suddenly taken on a decidedly anti-Iraq war tone with not-too-thinly veiled criticism of the war in the past two episodes. For the first time I'm hearing "preachy" coming from the show rather than humor. It's not an attractive change.
In addition to the anti-war shots, last night's episode was basically a 30 minute anti-Army slam, which makes for pretty curious timing coming just one day after Veteran's Day. It was easily the most unfunny Simpsons episode I've ever seen (and I think I've seen them all).
Perhaps the creators of the show have finally given in to the lefty world in which they live and work and have simply run out of ideas after so many years on the air. If so, it's time to pull the plug before they cheapen the entire franchise. It was political correctness that made the show successful, not political activism. We get enough of that out of Hollywood without seeing it in a cartoon as well." -posted by Rick Moore @ 11/13/2006

The difference is that something like that is to be expected on South Park, not the Simpsons...
