Why do people play 6 to 5 blackjack when in the same casino they offer blackjack that pays 3 to 2 with a single deck? Take the Eldorado for example they have a 6 to 5 game where you can double on any two cards and double after a split but right next to it they have a full pay game that pays 3 to 2 for blackjack but can only double on 10-11 and no double after a split. The 10-11 3 to 2 blackjack game has one third the house edge as the 6 to 5 game. So why is that so many people play the 6 to 5 game when they could be playing the 3 to 2 game?
At the Eldorado they even have a two deck game that pays 3 to 2 for blackjack and you can double on any two cards. With so many options why do so many people play on the 6 to 5 tables with stagerring odds against them?

Why do people bet on Big 6 on craps (this bet pay 1:1) when the EXACT same bet is available under a different name and it pays 7:6? Why is there a bet called Buy (X) that pay something while a bet called Place (X) pay more and is EXACTLY the same thing? It's because people bet on everything at craps, so why would the casinos remove some very profitable games/bets when people are playing them? Why do people buy lottery tickets if the EV is under .20? It's because most people who buy lottery tickets have no idea about that is EV they just see a big jackpot they don't want to do math and realize that they will loose money in the long run, some buy for over $5,000 worth of tickets when they have an horrible EV! Why do people play bingo? The house take a big rake on every cards and they have a horrible EV there too. As long as there will be demand on the game, the game will be available.

If nobody played double 0 roulette, then I guess casinos would replace them with single 0 roulette, but why would they do that now if people still play no matter what?

The house edge on 6-5 BJ is not exactly staggering.
While it is terrible compared to regular BJ,it is better than the house edge at almost any slot machine, many bets in craps and rouleete, much better than keno or horse racing and pretty equal to sports betting.
Its a terrible game for educated players but I'd rather have my mom playing 6-5 than keno.

Most people don't care about the odds and don't even know what is the house edge, why do you think there is so many compulsive gamblers?

Actually, the two bets are not the same thing. The Buy bet pays true odds but takes a 5% vig, usually in the form of a "fee" for placing the bet as opposed to "skimmed" from the profit. In general it is better to make a Place bet on 5,6,8,9 and a Buy bet on 4,10.
