Talking Don't you wish you could do THIS every day . . .

So I'm playing at one of my local casinos last night. Dealer has an Ace up, the count is positive, I get a pair of 8s with a $30 bet out, so I split. I expect to lose, but the charts say split 8s even against a dealer's ace rather than surrender. So, you guessed it: I split and get two more 8s. So I split again and . . . two more 8s! So I now have 6 hands with a first card of 8, each with $30 out, against a dealer's Ace. "Just great," I think, wondering why oh why I didn't surrender. The table is going crazy, pit boss has walked over to watch, and I have a crowd standing behind me. So I start drawing cards: 1st hand, 10; 2nd hand 3, I double, get another 10; 3rd hand 2, I double, get an Ace; 4th hand, 6, I hit, get a 7; 5th hand, another 2, double, get a 10; 6th hand, 3, double, get a 10. Dealer draws a 5, a 7 and a Jack. Table goes wild. Pit boss is actually laughing and says he's never seen this one before. I collect my winnings, tip the dealer generously and get the hell out of there. I'll never be able to top this one, but it was great while it lasted.

I was at a table where you could resplit aces, had a $70 bet out. I ended up resplitting aces 4 times and getting 10s on them all. Yeah I did win it hehe, I had to switch tables, would have looked pretty wierd for me to go down to 5 bucks after that one lmao

I'm assuming the count was high enough to justify this play. Is that correct?

Luck favors fools, little children, and sometimes, me.

Last night I was attacking an online casino bonus. Playing a $100 hand of blackjack. I got a 15 vs dealer 4. I click the wrong button and hit instead of stand. Amazingly, I get a 6 and draw to 21. More amazingly, if I had not have hit, the dealer would have drawn to a pat 18.

Sometimes I feel like I only have a few of these in my life total, and I just used up another one.

I gave J-Lo a hug in a shoe store once. Is that lucky?

Hmm,

I've never seen a game that allowed you to split to 6 hands?

Somewhere in the back of my warped, partially brain dead mind, I recall reading something about a game with unlimited splits. If I ever played it I never got the opportunity to split to over 4 and perhaps my mind is just playing tricks on me.
Or it could be a gimmick game where blackjack pays 1 to 1 or dealer takes ties and they put in a bunch of extra marginal rules just to cover those bad ones up.
Or it could be as Cass said, BS (was that BS or basic strategy??)

No BS involved. Like I said, my initial hand was two 8s. I split those. Got two more 8s. I split again. Two more eights. My understanding is that you can split pairs up to four times, no? I was playing at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. As for your question about the count, the running count was about +18 with about two decks left in the shoe. Hope this clarifies things . . . wasn't trying to brag, just wanted to share a fun moment.
