Evening gents, I was on a search for some answers on my betting stratigies. I have been using the KO system for eight decks S17,das,no surrender. I bet 10min with 50max and have a 25 midddle bet.I geuss that would be an accurate picture of my bets. I try to use this as a cover for myself and the count. I would appreciate any input to a better strategy. blackchipjim

I have a feeling you're still in negative territory, or maybe close to zero, with a max bet of only 5 units on a positive count in an 8 deck shoe.

A 1-5 spread on 8D is only effective IF you avoid all negative counts. Bet 1u at key-count and 5u at pivot. Middle bet at your discression. Anyone else? zg

One-to-ten ($5-$50 or $10-$100) is what you've always told me ZG. It's worked well enough for me. But I like the 1:5 ($5-$25 or $10-$50) with no negative counts better.

A 1-5 spread isn't going to cut it against 8 decks. You are looking at an edge of only around .3% and using $10-$50 spread will net you about $2.50/hr. You should use a minimum spread of $10-$100 which will make you $7.00/hr and give you an edge of .7%. I myself use a 1-20 spread against 8 deck play all so if you can afford it and if the casino won't toss you, use a 1-20 spread. But 8 deck is best for wonging, that way you only play the positive counts!

I started out with 1:5 ($5-$25) on 6D games, wonging like a fool, due to intense bankroll limitations. It's a pretty frustrating existence, since so much time is spent searching for counts, and there's so little room for bet spreading.

I recommend

a) Wonging
b) Increasing your spread
c) collecting comps.
