Default The Surrender Rule

I have a friend who never surrenders, and I'm reluctant to surrender because I'm not always certain.

What is the Surrender Rule?

Is never surrendering that much of a disadvantage?

i go by the fab four...
lsr = late surrender circa 0.07 % advantage
lsr 16 v 9,10,A
lsr 15 v 10
also lsr 15 v A at tc=1 & lsr 15 v 9 at tc=2

You have 17, dealer shows an Ace with no BJ. What should you do? The dealer will bust 20% of the time with the Ace and end up with 17, 8% of the time. If you play this hand 100 times ,for a dollar and surrender, you will end up with $50. If you don't surrender, You will win the 20 hands, when dealer busts and push the 8 hands when he has 17 and lose the72 hands. Ending up with $48.

Surrender according to BS. No need to question basic strategy, it is the cheapest way to play.
