Roulette Advantage?

Okay... I know how it's a sucker's game, and the odds on any number coming up at any given time are just 50-50 or something like that. And I know how 0 and 00 toss a monkey wrench into the whole thing and that it's just a waste of time. But, I read somewhere in the Internet that, if you can narrow it down to something like 8 numbers that you play until one hits, you have a better than even chance of making some headway.

One issue is, you have to place a total of at least $10 either inside or outside -- but that's not a big problem. I've played with betting inside the top, middle, and bottom thirds with simulators online and had encouraging results... although, I know, it's not reality.

I'm exploring how it might be a way of raising some stake money for the BJ tables. It's quick and easy, and simple. That way, a player would be losing the casino money at BJ instead of the rent money. (And, yes, I know, when you're down to rent money of grocery money for the kids, you shouldn't be stepping inside a casino.)

Anyone know of an edge at Roulette?

There are several ways to beat roulette, and a few of them are even legal!

As you said, the player needs to narrow down the ball’s landing zone. This is done by either predicting a likely quadrant or by eliminating the unlikely quadrants. Some methods of doing this include finding biased wheels, looking for exploitable dealers, “timing” the ball, etc. Here is a link to a forum for roulette APs:
