Anyone know the casinos' rating system and comp dollar points. i'm a 100% bs bj player. I played for 2 hours at a 15min table where i averaged $25 (15min-60 max). After playing, i checked my balance and had only 8.75 points. Is this low or normal? Plus, i got nothing in comps or casino rates for rooms because i tried making reservations for a fri night 2weeks in advance, but was told "sold out". I then had my friend (who plays 100min) to try making reservations, and he was able to get a room for some reduced rate (still like $150). How and where are people getting free rooms, free dinners from their BJ play????

I read somewhere that comp dollars/points is equivalent to 50% of what the casino theoretically expects to win. The rules i played: 8d, ~1.7cut, s17, double down on anything and after splitting, latesurr, a-a split gets 1card each only; which is 0.39% for casino. Therefore, in 2 hours i estimate 230 hands x $25avg x 0.0039 = 22.425 /2 = 11.21 comp points. Any casinos with better rewards? If i didnt play basic strategy, would they have increased the comp ratings?

as a side, how do i calculate my expected returns on my gambling? How do i calculate my own variance of my bj sessions? Help please. i play basic strategy, use hi-lo count for betting only, and walk away from table when either i'm out of chips or the count isnt positive alot.

Start by reading Comp City by Max Rubin, then read Jean Scotts Frugal Gambling series.
Every question you can think of will be fully discussed,as will areas you never gave a moments thought to.
A lot depends on where you are playing. In Vegas, for example- a $25 player at Bellegio might get next to nothing, but the same player at Sahara,or Harrahs might get a free room.Downtown, they'd comp you three nights and throw in some meals at some casinos for steady green chip action.Same in Laughlin or Jean.
