Has anyone read the new book by Ben Mezrich called Busting Vegas? Mezrich also wrote Bringing Down the House. While I enjoyed BDTH for its entertainment value sometimes a second book on the same subject is usually pretty empty or repetitive and so I wouldn't mind an opinion or two before buying it!

I just read Busting Vegas. Not bad. But not better than BDTH ;)

But I recommend it.

I haven't read Busting yet, but I expect it to be a bit removed from the truth of what actually happened. I understand this book focuses on Semyon Dukach, and from what I hear his part of the MIT adventure is greatly exaggerated.

I'm sure it will be an entertaining book nonetheless.

BDTH tells about MIT students using "team" card-counting. Busting Vegas tells about MIT students with one of them being the "darling of Las Vegas" using 3 other techniques to their advantage to rake in millions. Soon, casinos may start doing some changes to counter the techniques revealed in the book. Are there still any MIT blackjack teams going around?

My friend just lent my this book and I'm on the 2nd chapter...It's a good read so far into it but from what my friend has already told me (because he wanted to practice it) about the book, they employ as one of their techniques being able to card locate Ace's etc as the dealer shuffles the cards...Now I know myself it is possible to cut to a general area where a high percentage of 10's and Aces may be...but that is a general area...Claiming to know when an Ace will come up due to the clumping of certain cards around that Ace is another story.
