Playing to Your Strengths in Tournament Blackjack
Luck/Guts Players
1. Minimize your exposure to a certain set of opponents. The less they can predict your betting patterns, and the less they can rely on long term averages, the better off you will be.
2. Try the three hand sit-and-go tables. Some amount of luck and guts is required for these, and you can often take advantage of those lacking guts. You also care less about position play, so the dealer button not coming all the way around in a five-handed game is less of a big deal to you.
3. Switch tables. Assuming there are other tables out there at your preferred limits, switch tables as much as you want! That’s the beauty of online blackjack, you can pick up your money and find another table at the drop of a hat.
Psychological Players
1. Play the players, not just the cards. You want to see the same players all the time, learn their styles, and track them down like card playing bloodhounds!
2. Go for the ten hand sit-and-go tables. You want to see the button twice, giving your victims as many chances as possible for them to hang themselves. Study the players and their weaknesses and take advantage of their laziness. If you see the same 5 players game after game, so much the better.
