Default Oregon Casinoes I have known

In order of preference (for Blackjack), the following reviews are provided. We have played and stayed at all except Three Rivers where there are no guest rooms.

Nice rooms, friendly staff, fun play at Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville, OR, just of I-5. They have a non-smoking room with 2 tables, one is $3, other $5.

Nice rooms, friendly staff, great buffet (especially Monday nights) at Spirit Mountain Casino in Grande Ronde, OR between Salem, OR and the Coast.

OK, but small and dark with no adjacent hotel is Three Rivers Casino in Florence, OR. Play is OK, food is grill with liquid smoke added, one step above a greasy spoon. They have plans to build a hotel. Very busy area during Rhodendron Festival in Late May.

Chinook Winds on the Coast in Lincoln City, OR.: bad food, so-so play, smokey. Motel is detached and dingey, but every room has an ocean view as it sits right on the beach.

Kah-nee-tah on Warm Springs Resevation near Madras, Oregon (Central Oregon) is a great place to stay, especially with kids. Play is not so good, but they do offer SD. Wonderful relaxing location in the desert with a natural hot springs and spectacular pool. Bring the kids! Get a massage! Golf course, horse back riding and a salmon ceremony in Summer.

I was looking forward to my first visit to Oregon casinos in late May, but Spirit Mountain cancelled their scheduled UBT circuit event. Looks like I won't be up that way any time soon.

Default La Center!

I enjoy playing in La Center. It's just north of Portland. The casinos are very small, but I find they have excellent penetration on their 6 deck shoe game there.

5.25-5.5/6 decks and never worse that 5/6 decks. This is at one of the casinos there. They have 4 casinos, but I haven't tried all of them yet.

"Play is not so good, but they do offer SD."

Wrong on both counts! I play this casino more than any other. The rules are not great if that is what you are referring to. Casino only offers 6deck and 2 deck. However, the six deck penetration is by a wide margin the best in the state. Many dealers cut past the one deck mark. Overall, the dealers are very fast and competent as well. Lots of hands per hour here.

Kla-mo-ya has very interesting BJ promotions. Look for them. One time they offered 2-1 payout on ALL blackjacks between the hours of midnight and 8 am. You knew where to find me that month.

Problem is neither place can accept any kind of big action. Max bet $100 at both locations.

Best game in the state is to be found at Spirit mtn. 6 deck, DA2, DAS, S17. Good penetration
