I was checking out online blackjack at http://www.pokerroom.com (decks shuffled after every round, i.e. no card counting) and saw this guy "bricklayer03" playing 5 hands at once. It seemed like he was using basic strategy. He bet $5 on the 2 left boxes, $5 on the 2 right boxes, and $10 on the middle box.
Game Type: 2 decks, DAS, DS17, min bet $1, max bet $100
Odds of basic strategy player winning: 49.5%
Odds of dealer winning: 52.95%
When I left he was at $400. When I came back, he was at $1000. I don't know if he won $600 or if he withdrew more money, but was he using a different strategy? Anyone hear of this? Did he overcome the odds with a streak of good luck?
