Cool Cost on house edge if you don't adjust to rule changes?

Lets say you play the same why on a game weather it is hit soft 17 or stay soft 17. Plus you split pairs in the way that does not allow you to double after a split when doubling after a split is allowed how much E.V. will this cost you. I think that it will be a relatively small amount because the stragys are about 99% percent simialar dispite the rules. What if you don't adjust your play for the # of decks in play how much will this cost you?

in KO there is a basic strategy given for all conditions. it is one BS table.

the only option it indicates is surrender. it makes no differentiation for H17/S17. 1D vs 8D. One page later it shows how to change up for DAS games and says in the footnote that this adds something pathetic like 0.003% ev for the 8 splits you add for DAS games (2,2&3,3 vs. 2-4, 4,4 vs 5&6).

the authors claim that this table is suitable for conditions in which you might be playing a variety of games. for the true AP this might be sacreligious, but for the casual player like me it works fine. I only have the opportunity to play 6D games, so I only need to know 1 BS chart, which is a combination of the KO one, and another one i looked up on wizzard of odds. the difference between the two was 2 or 3 plays, which are borderline as it is - couple this with the fact that they occur at 3 out of 300 or so strategic decisions really shouldn't affect your advantage that much.... if i'm wrong shoot me now.

what the exact odds are, for all the combinations like 2d vs 6d for example i couldn't tell you, but for now my ignorance doesn't seem to be too harmful to me (i hope) and is supported by the few books i have read on the subject. A lot of them seem to be marginal plays.

Rather than worry about how much playing badly will cost you, just learn the different basic strategies. As you say there's not alot of changes.

If you really want to find out it's cost to, look up the EVs and multiply by the frequency of occurence.

I can't stand to play a game if I don't know the right strategy - otherwise how do I know if I'm right when I'm getting yelled at

H17 is costly enough, let alone not playing it right.

I ws thinking about this and you're probably right - it wouldn't cost a whole lot. But still...........
