Could this work to beat video roulette?

Ok so maybe this theory is just based on selective memory, but this is what I was thinking...

There is a video roulette table at a local casino, and it seems that a 0 or 00 shows up about every 10 - 15 spins.

What if I waited for 10 (or maybe even 15 if i was really conservative) spins to go by that were just a regular color, then started placeing 1 unit on 0 and another unit on 00.

Not positive, but i believe the 0 and 00 pay out 36:1. So as long as it hits a 0 or 00 in 15 spins or less, I would make money.

I understand roulette is a game with no memory, so maybe I just see the 0's popping up all too frequently because of select memory.

Also, if this is a losing strategy, can anyone calculate, or point me to how much EV or -EV this strategy would be.

Thanks

You said it yourself. The 0 and 00 each have exactly 1/38 chance to be hit next turn, so you would loose 1/19th of everything you bet. The EV would be exactly 18/19 (or -1/19), pretty horrible. I highly doubt there is really a basis in these computers since they are owned/tested by casinos and it's pretty easy to make a random number generator anyway.

I think I know what video roulette game you are talking about. They say that it is not random. People record the previous spins, find a pattern, make about $400 and then get back off. That's what I heard. I'd go down there myself but it is pretty far away and you can't always find a pattern.
