Potential Problem With Online Gambling Supply Order
Hey everyone - I wanted to let you know that I ordered from discount casino gear ( http://www.discountcasinogear.com) this past weekend for stuff I needed this coming Friday.
Looks like they didn't fill the order for several days, then shipped it by a much slower method than requested (and paid for - my order was relatively small - $26 - and the shipping and handling was $14). I have emailed them a complaint and will report on their response.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

I have exchanged a few emails with the owner of discount casino gear.
He claims that normally they would overnight a new package and have me refuse the first one when it arrives. But at this point, becuase the item is out of stock, there isnt much of anything that can be done.
Becuase I won't get the package when I needed it, and because they specifically used a shipping method contrary to what I had requested, I asked for him to at least refund my shipping.
He agreed.
I can't say that all orders from discount casino gear are handled this way, but I certainly feel mine was mishandled to an extent.
I don't know how I feel about this. I'm pissed that I'm not getting my products when I needed/wanted them, but if that's the best he can do, I don't see how I could expect anything more. The whole experience is kinda like kissing your sister, I guess.
I don't know if I will give them another try or not. But if the owner/manager is telling me the truth (and I have no reason to believe he isn't) then I guess he did right by me.

Last Post - Followup
Recieved my stuff today ( https://www.discountcasinogear.com/s...roduct772.html) and while I am still a little peeved it took so long, I do have to say that the products are very nice, sturdy and professional. Plus, I got the dealing shoe, discard holder, cut card and 6 decks of cards for less than most of the dealing shoes alone sell for.
So, I would probably use them again - and provided you weren't in a hurry would recommend this product to you.

Check out http://photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photosI have some pictures of the construction of a blackjack table in an album called "Blackjack Table". Basically, I found a plank of 12" pine 1" boards glued up to 36" plus one 12" pine plank that I glued to the original width to make the table deep enough (42" I believe). I got this wood at either Lowe's or Home Depot. I used some folding table legs salvaged from an old table that had seen better days. I bought the felt off of eBay for under $5. I don't recall what I paid for the large chip tray. I padded the felt with some 1/4" carpet padding. The entire project came in at under $50 if I recall correctly.

Hey Mike... photos don't come up with that link.
I would really love to see them as I plan on building a table sometime in the next year. Right now I just have a fairly decent tabletop for all card games that works ok...
I know what I want to do, although I have not made a final descision for fabric.
I LOVE this table http://www.side-pot.com/table2.php I thought the ellipse shape would make it a nice multi-purpose table with a classy look. I think it's sweet.
If I had to make a decision right nowI would probably go with this fabric: http://store.casinodiscountsupplies....isupotacl.html I want a nice wood raceway with drop in cupholders as well as a nice REAL padded rail.

Try this link. There are several albums out there. Look for that one called "Blackjack Table".

Another post about the company "Discount Casino Gear."
I have looked at potentially ordering several items from this company since my first post. I have to say that I believe strongly that their pricing amounts to bait and switch advertising. The last item was a 6-deck card shuffler they list at $12.95. A great price, and about $6 less than anywhere else!
However, they screw you in the shipping cost. From 5 other sites, this same shuffler was $19 with s&h of $5.95. I emailed one of those companies and asked about the weight of the unit. I then called UPS and got a ground shipping quote. $5.95 *WAS* the correct weight.
Discount Casino Gear are charging $12.00 for s&h. Rip off!
The owner of Discount Casino Gear seems like a nice enough guy. He CLAIMS that he is passing along shipping costs with no markup. I say... "don't get stuck on stupid." The price may end up being the same, but in my opinion, his tactics are crap. He is lowballing prices for posting on the net and jacking the prices of shipping to compensate.
You can do what you want, but I am not going to be checking their prices again.

A "shuffler?" All those things do is riff and jam. <LOL> Seriously, if you are wanting to practice or play using casino conditions, you need a shuffle that riffs and strips....not just riff. You should be able to riff three times and strip the 6-deck stack in 1 minute and 12 seconds. I've seen it done and timed it myself! I was more impressed with this than I was when I heard about people counting down a single deck in under 20 seconds <LOL>

I do a lot of hand mixing and a little hand shuffling too... yeah they jam a little, but not too bad. Trust me, when I shuffle a shoe, it is thorough.
BUT... don't miss the point of the main post, big daddy. Discount Casino Gear = bait and switch ripoff, in my opinion.
