Default Evaluating doubledeck penetration with a cut card

Dumb question.

Let's say a casino uses a cut card when dealing a double deck game. The card is inserted only just past halfway through the two decks, let's call it the 55% mark.

Now, since the remainer of the last round will still have to be dealt after the cut card is reached, does this figure significantly into the 2D penetration? Should we assume that a 55% cut card equates to 60% penetration, or anything?

If there are a lot of players at the table then it could increase the penetration level by 10-12 cards, but that doesn’t really help you much. The biggest gain from penetration is being able to make bets deeper into the shoe. Since the extra penetration in this case comes after you’ve placed your final bet it doesn’t add much to your advantage. It might help your PE a bit, but not much else. Even if you can consistently spread to several hands on the last round this would still be considered at 55% game.
