Default Backcounting And How To Do It

My question is simple for those of you who are more experienced. How do you backcount without looking so obvious that the little old lady playing slots knows what you are doing (yes I think only little old ladies play slots). I mean short of leaning your head in between 2 players and asking do you mind if i count until the count turns positive. How far do you stand back from the table? How long do you linger backcounting until you swith tables? Do you only backcount from the shuffle or just walk up behind a table at any point and start counting? Knowing what you do now is there a tip you could give that you wished you knew when you started backcounting?

(please don't tell me to go by an OSU hat, relax and let my subconscious take over )

Here's an old discussion with some good tips:

Just look around and watch all of the ploppies standing around, watching timidly, cheering on their friends, looking for streaks or "dealer-biased" tables, etc. You'll be surprised how well you fit in.

Hold your cash in your hand wait until the count favors you then sitdown buy in and when the count hits -1 leave. No worries man. Just do it.

Default Back counting can be very productive.

Back counting can be very productive. I've done it and it has worked very well for me. Any more questions?

Wearing an OSU hat is the perfect cover play...nobody expects an OSU grad to know how to count when they run out of fingers!

If you need some cover (though the advice of "just do it" is good advice), find out what that casino's busiest and most backed-up game is. Probably poker. As you're back counting, keep glancing over at that area of the casino. If anyone asks, you're on a waiting list, but wanted to watch this "blackjack thing".

When the count's right, let out a frustrated "screw it, I'm still on the wait list, I might as well try this". Plop on down and rake in the money. =)

Default backcounting

I have my wife with me, pretending to teach her the rules of the game. Or, I will pretend like i'm waiting for a spot to open. Dont be afraid to interact with players currently involved. Just make sure you dont look too interested. Make sure you can count a round without hesitating.

best of luck !

You should have her pretending to teach you! Much better camo lol!

I was just wondering if ur wife actually plays - mine never did and loved slots. I didn't even gamble. But I learned BJ from playing the internet and taught her BS.

So now we can play together, she loves it, and it's alot of fun.

At least she doesn't play slots as often!

So, guys, teach ur wives BJ!

Not golf - she took that up a couple years back and now it's a bloody nightmare
