Default Laughlin

Just wondering. Anyone here played at Laughlin, Nevada? Wife and I are considering a side trip there in January when we go back to Vegas. What's the Blackjack like? Table minimums, rules, conditions?

Default Laughlin

I think you would like it, Mike.
I have been there many times, but not for a couple of years.
The limits were $2.00 to $500.00 and $5 to $500.
The games were pretty good.
While it may have changed some, there is an older crowd down there and it is more laid back.
Depending on the time of year, the rooms can be very cheap.
I still get flyers for $12.00 rooms, ect.

Check it out.......

Figure to Midnite. We're taking the kids out and leaving them on the Strip for the first couple of nights and Verna and I will head on to Fremont. But the first full day their, I think we'll drive on down to Laughlin for the day (and part of the evening.) If we like it, might just schedule a flight there for the next trip.

I was just there a month ago. Some of the casinos are 6 to 5 for blackjack. But at Riverside they have alot of single deck tables and pay 3 to 2. H17 double on 10,11 only. But, this was very profitable for me. I was using High opt I just for betting. I will be going in 2 weeks with Hi-Low and using most of the indexes and will try that.

I just got back. Was there on a daytrip from Vegas last week.
The Edgewater has single and double deck games that pay 3/2.But they also have 6/5 ones as well so be careful.
Also has a great buffet, and they run promos where you get a coupon for every $5 or better BJ. Five or six coupons gets you one entry in a treasure chest where you get an envelope that contains prizes such as t-shirts,food comps, cash or DVD players. When I stayed there for a few days last year, I collected enough BJs for six envelopes. Got two great dinners in their steakhouse, two buffets, and won $30 in cash.
Its not for everyone but the peole are nice, fod is good, comps are plentiful-even for $5 BJ playes. And there are a number of $3 tables in town, although I didn't see any at The Harrahs, which, btw,is nicer than arrahs LV. The ride from Vegas is quite scenic, esp if you go thru Kingman on one leg.

Thanks NYer.....I'm looking more forward to it the closer it gets to being time to fly out there! Between the Strip and Downtown, Downtown wins out for me without question and Laughlin sounds more like Fremont that the Strip!

I rarly play the strip anymore, except for Imperial Palace, where I always seem to win, though never big. Very nice two deck games.
If you get to Laughlin, the Edgewater and its sister casino Colorado belle both offer a once a month pay$10,recieve $15 in promo chips.I use them for doubledowns and such.
And if you don't have a card for Casino Royale on the strip, new members get a funbook with coupons for a 2/1 bj and 3/1 suited bj.Plus a free ace coupon and a $5 matchplay. Its a shame you can't use all on one hand though.
If you are driving down with kids, may I suggest you go over Hoover Dam and then thru Kingman. About 20 miles south of the dam is a rather neat Exotic Animal sanctuary that houses some tigers, lions, wolves and such.nice place to make a pitstop.

I'm an old Fart NY'er <LOL> Kids are 25 and 28 and one is married. The first trip we made to Vegas, we did the Boulder Dam thing. Depressed me. Here I was in a rented car and could only think about how much fun those roads leading to the dam would have been on my motorcycle <LOL>

We'll fly into Vegas again this time and rent a car. We'll go to Laughlin the day after we arrive. Our kids stayed at Casino Royale the last time we took them out but I don't think I got a player's card there. I think the kids are staying at Imperial Palace this trip out. Verna and I have reservations downtown at Plaza, but may change to MSS (got a couple of free room offers and only got casino rates at Plaza.) Were you implying that you could use the coupon book from Casino Royale down in Laughlin?

Had surgery on my shoulder this past Monday else, we'd be heading to Kansas City today <sigh>. Hopefully, it'll be in pretty good shape by the Vegas trip. If not...well, hydrocodone does wonders <LOL>
