Trip to Sin city info
I was going to the big city in november and plan on staying a week. I'll be staying for a week and renting a car. I plan on staying on the strip and mixing walking the strip and driving to the outlying areas for good games. I did it last year but was only able to hit a dozen or so casinos off strip due to time constraints. Could someone add a list of best to worst casinos for bj lower limits would be nice with a simple rating. I appreciate anyone's input so I don't wasted to much time running around like last year. blackchipjim

The games are changing all the time so the best game today may not be the best game come November. In general here's a good start:

As of today,I'd go with Cortez,Rampart,Wild West,Western,Sams Town,Plaza,Longhorn(fun game-dd on any 3 cards, late surrender)Slots of Fun,Fiesta Henderson,Terribles...Im sure there are some others, but those are the ones I try to hit on a trip.
But,as Sonny pointed out, things could change before then.Maybe one or more will become a harrahs property and start doling out six deck 6-5 shoes, like they've done at Ballys.

I'd avoid the Harrah's properties.. along with Wynn (stakes too high) and Mandalay Bay (CSM)
Best games will probably be in the downtown area though.. that's where I'd go if I were going back anytime soon.

Bear in mind that table minimums often increase at night.
I was able to slum at a $15 table at the Wynn, as long as I was playing before about noon (maybe two). Venetian had all kinds of $10 tables early in the day.
Course if you're looking for $5 or less, then avoid the strip entirely, except for Slotsafun.

Boulder highway:
make sure to play longhorn, dd on 3 and resplit aces to 3 hands make it a great game rules wise, but the pen was soso there last month. ~66%
table limit was like 2-3$. across the street nevada palace has a $1 6D game.
Fremont st:
cortez hands down is the best. though while you're there, be brave and RUN down the street to the western to play their $3 DD game. pretty good rules, ok pen, and free karaoke!
Strip:
slotsofun was pretty good. really damn smokey and packed, it felt like i was in an arcade as a kid on a boardwalk. weird. but $5 DD on a sat night can't be beat on the strip!

low down
Thanks for the input on the usual places and games. I geuss I was looking for little casinos or out of the way places to try. I tried to visit some small ones last year but found them to be only slot parlors. I thought that there were more casinos on the outskirts of downtown or the strip. I've been to the cannery in summerlin and red rock but weren't really impressed. Any good ones in henderson? blackchipjim

GVR in Henderson has a playable (but not great) double deck game ($10 min I think). Same kind you can find at most of the Station casinos. I did happen to get really lucky there each time I played when I stayed there one weekend, so it has a soft spot in my heart.

I've played and won at Fiesta Henderson. I don't recall the rules, but I think the DD was H17,DOA,DAS.
