There is a casino by me that offers the following: on your players card you get 5X play on slots and 2X on VP - this is offered on Mondays and Tuesdays. Does this make it worth it to go?

Probably not on slots, unless you can find a slot with a banking feature that is exploitable. Video poker with 2x might be playable, depending on the games available and the cash back offered. Depending on the property, it can be profitable to play what seems like breakeven games, because of the subsequent marketing offers that are worth cash.

It depends on many factors. What are the points for? In some casinos(Harrahs, for example),you bank points for food and merchandise. Once you reach a certain level, you get free rooms without having any points deducted.
You also can get nice gifts just for showing up-last month I got two really nice jackets and over Memorial Day I'm getting a 12 piece BBQ setup, just the perfect gift for my friends new McMansion in summerlin.
Harrahs gives 1 point for every $5 you run thru a slot machine. On 5X day, thats $1=1 point. Other casinos use different measures. Some base their rewards on money in,others on money out.
As a one time deal, its not worth most offers like this. However, doing it regularly can be fairly rewarding. But in and of itself-not really.

Ok. Thanks for the info I will have to check into it closer before I would go. And here I thought it sounded like a good deal. Glad I asked first.

Play slots on Mondays and Tuesdays and multiply your rewards by earning 5X points.*

Earn 2X points on video poker.*

Example: Earn $1.00 and see your balance grow by $4.00 for a total of $5.00.

Where you get the good stuff!

*Base points only. Promotion may be modified or cancelled at anytime without prior notice. Valid on points earned on specified gaming days only. Gaming day is defined as 6:00 am to 5:59 am. Must be 21 years of age or older to enter casino. Other restrictions apply.

This is the exact rules from the casinos website. Does this give anymore info that would say it's a decent promo?

Not really. What you need to know is what it takes to earn the $1.00 in the first place. Some give 1%,some give .5%,some more, some less.
Do you have an ACG? They often list the slot club requirements for an individual casino.
Also is that cashback or comp dollars? Sometimes they are interchangable, sometimes they are mutually exclusive.

alright gotcha yeah. what you are saying is it may take $20 to earn the 1 dollar - its not going to be play $1 in slots in get $5 in comps. Maybe I'll go check it out this weekend, but then again with the nice weather here I don't know if I want to sit inside when I could be out.
