Two different betting strategies

When I count cards I usually play at a $10-100 table and spread my bets from $10-100.

The betting scheme I normally play is: $100 at counts/deck of +6 or greater, $80 at +5, $60 at +4, $40 at +3, $20 at +2, and $10 at zero, 1 and all neg. counts. I was reading a book recently and it mentioned the following betting scheme: $100 at counts/deck of +4 or greater, $75 at +3, $50 at +2, $25 at zero or +1, and $10 at all neg. counts.

Now if you play with the 2nd betting scheme your avg. bet is higher and since it was published in a book I have a feeling the 2nd betting scheme is probably the better one but I would like some advice. I don't have a computer program to run any simulations which could simply test the two betting schemes so if someone could do that for me and post the results it would be much appreciated, especially since I plan on playing Saturday night!

I thought I'd mention that the reason I picked the betting scheme I did was because if you assume the casino has about 0.5% advantage (4 deck game) and that every TC of +1 gives you a 0.5% edge then I technically wouldn't have any edge over the casino till the TC is +2 which is why I was waiting till +2 to raise my bet.

After my last post I'm curious if the betting scheme I used to use when I played on $5-50 tables was incorrect (i.e. suboptimal) as well.

$50 at counts/deck of +6 or greater, $40 at +5, $30 at +4, $20 at +3, $10 at +2, and $5 at zero, 1 and all neg. counts.

If someone could recommend a more optimal betting scheme for $5-50 tables as well that would be great. One of the casinos I goto doesn't always have a $10-100 table open if it isn't busy so I sometimes still play $5-50 and it would be good if I could maximize my profits.

sorry i dont have a program to do that.. do you know what a program like that would be called? but i like how your doing your betting and i am going to try it out. i'll post my results after i give it a good run. i'll also be doing it in reno at 1-2 deck tables.

In a 1 or 2 deck game I'm not sure if you'll be able to spread your bet as much but give it a try. I've only played shoe games so I have no experience to offer in other games.

After I made my posts I went back to my Kevin Blackwood book and saw him recommend a 1-20 spread as such: $100 at counts/deck of +5 or greater, $80 at +4, $60 at +3, $40 at +2, $20 at +1, $10 at zero, and $5 at negative counts. I should mention that this was recommended for shoe games.

Since I can't spread my bet that much at some of the casinos where I'm restricted to a 1-10 spread I've come up with the following betting scheme: $100 at counts/deck of +5 or greater, $80 at +4, $60 at +3, $40 at +2, $20 at +1, $10 at zero and neg. counts. If I'm playing a $5-50 table I'd bet as follows: $50 at counts/deck of +5 or greater, $40 at +4, $30 at +3, $20 at +2, $10 at +1, $5 at zero and neg counts.

Kevin seemed to suggest slightly different betting schemes depending on what counting system you're using, and of course how many decks are being used. I'm using the Hi-Lo and play 4 decks; once again any comments would be welcome.
