Default Real life success with Oscar?

I've been using this in practice and it seems to work. Has anyone used it in real life in a brick and mortar
casino?

Its a simple betting system.
you bet a unit.If you win,you bank it.
If you lose, you raise your bet one unit.If you continue to lose you keep your bet the same. After a win,you raise your bet one unit, doing so until you are even or one unit ahead. The idea is to subdivide the game into smaller sequences. You want to break even or win one unit. After you are even or ahead one unit for that sequence, you start all over.

O.K., this is going to sound strange coming from me. Anyone who's read any of my posts on this or other message boards knows I am very anti-progression. However, as I've mentioned before they do somewhat fascinate me and Oscar's seemed the most reasonable. I used the "play for fun" feature of Bet365 and bet $1 units. I told myself that if I could increase my bankroll by $100 ($1 at a time) I'd use it for real (on-line). It took a little while but I did go up $100. I only had one 'series' that lasted a long time but I think my max bet was only $14. I then went to Littlewoods where I was betting 1 GBP at a time for real. I won 50 pounds last night. Today, I played almost 3 hours spread out and won another 100 pounds.

However, last night I also deposited $110 in Intercasino for a monthly $90 bonus. The minimum bet there is $2 so I thought I'd give it a try (with a bankroll of $200). I went completely broke in about 20 minutes. The first time ever I didn't make money on a bonus.

I've decided to keep playing Oscar but ONLY if my starting unit can be 1 dollar or pound. I also played some more for fun on Bet365 and had one VERY long series that I probably wouldn't have continued had it been real money. BUT, I did finally come out $1 ahead.

But the long sequences are the only excitement OSCAR provides.
Using a slight variation,I double after my first loss,so if I win hands 2,or both 3 and 4,the sequence is a winner and I start again. The vast majority of sequences finish in less than ten hands and are about as exciting as watching paint dry.
I do think its better used in roulette, esp. single zero games.

I just played at Littlewoods again using Oscar. I was hoping to win 50 units (1GBP). I was going to stop the sequence if I ever got down 50 units.

I was 2(!) pounds away from my goal when I hit a bad streak. The highest my bet ever got was 7 pounds but I was nearing the 50 unit loss. On what would have been my last bet had I lost, I had a 16 against the dealer's 10. A bad situation but I made it worse by HITTING THE WRONG BUTTON. I'd like to think I would've busted anyway had I taken a hit. Anyway, since I was already up 48 pounds, I only wound up losing 2. Perhaps I'll try it again tonight.

I used this a bit in a casino.
$10 start bet, and my session bankroll was only $100. Yes, I know how small my BR is compared to my bets, but I was only playing for fun (evil CSMs). I think I was up a bit and had $140 or so on the table when I started using Oscars. I had a few short 'series', and a few longer ones, and it was surprising how long I played for, but eventually the inevitable happened, and I lost.
It was when my girlfriend had gone to the bar to get me a Coke, I think I got down to $35 and my bet was at $55. I decided to go "all in". I bet my $35 and won. Then I gave up and just started randomly betting, between $10-$30. I decided to color up at $200, but as I was asking my GF if she was ready to go I bet $10 more and won, so I took out $210.

I'm beginning to detect a bit of a pattern with my simulations.
I win outright on the first hand about 40% of the time.
I win outright by the second hand about 70%
I win outright within 10 hands about 85%
When I go down about half my 100 unit BR,I recover about 80%
When I've been down 80 units,I've recovered a little more than 10%
I've never recovered from being more than 85 down.

I reach my goal of winning 20 units well over 90%.
Of course,I'm still working on a very limited amount of simulations, but the ratios have started to firm up.I've also noticed that during long sessions,I'm off my count by a unit or two well more than I should be.
When I get back from Vegas,I'm going to start using a 75 bet limit and see how badly it effects my overall total.
