No, it's a frigging nightmare.
And to be honest, if I just wanted to do it recreationally, I wouldn't play online at all. The hassle of of deposits withdrawals would suck all the fun out of it. It even sucks the fun out of it when you're hustling bonuses and have a built-in advantage.
But if you absolutely must play, I'd recommend getting an ecocard account. You'll have to fund it with moneygram or western union (and pay transaction fees). But after that, the casino side of deposits and cashouts are pretty easy. Any withdrawals back to you are by wire transfer (more fees, takes a bit over a week).
As for casinos, you're mainly looking at microgaming and realtime gaming softwares. Most of the microgamings are pretty good about paying. Few of the RTGs are (bodog and inetbet have good reputations, but bodog only pays by check, which I hear is hella slow).
So, in conclusion. It's costing you money before you even play (the WU/moneygram fees). You're up against an uncaring computer's house advantage. You can't get a comped room. There's no cocktail waitresses. And God forbid you win, you are going to be looking at 1-5 days delay on the casino side, and 5-9 days on the bank side, before you can convert that into real money, with about $30 in fees incurred again.
And this assumes you aren't playing with a slow-paying casino, in which case it may be a month or two. And it also assumes that your ewallet doesn't shut down on you without notice, freezing your funds, which has happened to me twice.
