Default Tropicana Rules

Just been browsing this forum to see if I could find anything out that was casino-specific; after the Sunset Station post I realize I need to speak up. Are there any BJ games at the Tropicana worth playing? Or anywhere in the neighborhood (walking distance)? I'll be staying there and it's so convenient to be able to play where you stay.

Seems to me I recall that someone said (he said she said they thought they said, etc) that Luxor or maybe it was Mandalay Bay, had a good game with late Surrender. Those places are only a free tram ride from Tropicana....actually, you catch it across the streat at Excalibar.

I think I've actually played at Mandalay Bay, back when there was such a thing as a $5 table there. Maybe there will be since I'm going on weekdays. It would be nice to hear that Tropicana stands on soft 17 even. My old haunt Sahara doesn't, and they got rid of their dollar tables so I figure I might as well stay at Tropicana for $6 more/night. Of course, I did just find out about the weekly tournament at Sahara so I might be stopping in anyway.

If you want low table minimums and good rules, go to Fremont. Plaza, Binions, 4-Queens, El Cortez...they all have good games though Plaza is the best of the lot. Double Deck dealt face up with the same rules as 6-deck tables except they stand on soft 17s.

The last time I was at the Tropicana was December 2004. At the time they had good rules (6 decks, stand on all 17s, double any pair, double after split) on the $25 tables. The $10 tables had the same rules except for hitting a soft 17.
