Default Grand Casino Tunica tournament disaster

The latest entry at the BlackjackInfo blog describes a recent blackjack tournament held at Grand Casino Tunica. You won't believe the problems.

Grand Casino Tunica Tournament Not So Grand

What a bunch of morons.

Wow, that is ridiculous. Why on earth would they tell you they "didn't like your style of play" during a tournament?

Default Not unbelievable, sad to say

Ken

As someone who promotes tournaments, which adds to the casino bottom line even if they do not make a dime on the tournament because you help them get people in the door, one would expect VIP treatment and not an 86.

It would have been very interesting if a representative of their gaming board had been called in. In the past I was invited to a tournament a few months after being 86d from a casino and decided to go just to see what would happen. I had back up plans for a room somewhere else, but showed up and before the tournament I was approached by an assistant casino manager and two security types while I was at a VP machine (I was not going to play blackjack also). I handed the suite a photocopy of the invitation and made the stupid comment that I thought this was the casinos way of saying they were sorry for tossing me on my last vist. He took the invite and left me with security only to return a few minutes later when he said I was welcome to play in the tournament, use the facilities, play machines but was not permitted to play any table games (I did not ask if that included the big wheel). So my 86 turned into a back off for the stay. Three days after I left I received a certified letter again 86ing me and no future mailings. I also did not cash at the tournament.

The other thing that might have struck your mind is that if you waited a while before putting up a fight with the morons, you might have a seat waiting for you on the final table in their next tournament.

That sucks. It seems the best way to play their tourneys is to hope to get kicked out and then claim a spot at the next finals.

This should be written about in BOTH BJ INSIDER AND ALL-IN - but first have the editor of each publication call both the public relations dept and the senior management of the casino to "check the facts" of the up-coming story. A.Curtis would be perfect to make the call.

And file a complaint with Miss Gaming. zg

Ps - In the meantime, I'm posting the story here -

It's kind of like banning someone from a poker tournament for their "style of play" that is too good.

Clean-up on aisle three!

OK, guys, before this thread deteriorated into (more) name-calling, I removed some allegations about another player having something to do with my problem. I have no reason to believe that is the case, and there's no point in starting a flame-fest here. Sorry if any pertinent points were lost in the carnage.
